php Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 something like this just search for usb ethernet or something... these won't work as well as a NIC, but they do work.

php Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 Well, you could get one elsewhere... but there's probably not much you can do without spending at least a few dollars. What about PCMCIA slots?
richcornucopia Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 Heres are few you can get without ebay http://froogle.google.com/froogle?hl=en&q=pcmcia%20to%20ethernet&spell=1&sa=N&tab=wf.

Get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833156133 and connect both devices via a router....that is your best, cheapest and most reliable method...besides...all puters should have an ethernet port...and this is very cheap/easy way to do it.... FallowEarth Posted March 24, 2006 CID Share Posted March 24, 2006 something like this just search for usb ethernet or something... these won't work as well as a NIC, but they do work. I have used this model of ethernet-USB adapter, and from my experience it is great. Since it is a laptop, you may need to be sure that you have IRQs set properly (you don't want 3 devices on the same IRQ# as your USB). I would go with this option before a PCMCIA NIC because these often get hot which reduces functionality.
peepnklown Posted March 24, 2006 CID Share Posted March 24, 2006 If you want the best performance I would go with PCMCIA. HERE
