Hey, I just got a laptop. This particular laptop does not have a RJ-45 ethernet port. it only has rj-11.... Is there anyway i can share a connection from my computer to the laptop using the RJ-11 port?

Thanks, Tim

P.S. I cannot use wireless.

Get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833156133

and connect both devices via a router....that is your best, cheapest and most reliable method...besides...all puters should have an ethernet port...and this is very cheap/easy way to do it....

something like this

just search for usb ethernet or something... these won't work as well as a NIC, but they do work.

I have used this model of ethernet-USB adapter, and from my experience it is great.  Since it is a laptop, you may need to be sure that you have IRQs set properly (you don't want 3 devices on the same IRQ# as your USB).

I would go with this option before a PCMCIA NIC because these often get hot which reduces functionality.
