daman4469 Posted August 31, 2006 CID Share Posted August 31, 2006 Hey all, I am in the process of revamping a network setup, and I was wondering if, instead of using a bridge, I can use a crossover cable between two hubs, as long as their uplink ports are turned off. From what I understand, it is the same, but I'm not positive. I want to make sure before I go making a crossover cable. thanks, -Rob
dlewis23 Posted August 31, 2006 CID Share Posted August 31, 2006 you shouldn't need a crossover cable, a regular eathernet cable should work.

ghostmaster Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 DEAR, USING CROSS OVER CABLE IS LIMITED TO CONNECTING TWO DEVICES DIRECTLY WITHOUT CONTROLING THE NETLINE ( PRIORITY OR DELAY OR OTHER EVENTS IN THE NET THANKS To clarify, a crossover cable is used to connect 2 "like" devices, such as 2 computers, or 2 routers directly. In the case of a hub, you can use a straight through cable just fine.
