bsv28 Posted September 21, 2006 CID Share Posted September 21, 2006 Hello all, This is my first post. I'm in West Virginia and Charter sold out some accounts to Suddenlink. coknuck Posted September 21, 2006 CID Share Posted September 21, 2006 Did you power cycle your modem. Unplug (power cord) for about 30sec. then plug it back. Your modem might not be set to their system.

bsv28 Posted September 21, 2006 Author CID Share Posted September 21, 2006 I ended up calling Suddenlink. The technician sounded surprised when my connection was only 254 kb/s. They ended up telling me it was a billing error, so I guess that means that they subscribed me to the wrong high speed internet plan. They told me to call back when the billing department is open. Thanks all for the advice. I'll post the new speed soon (if Suddenlink ever fixes it lol) Thanks all.

bsv28 Posted September 22, 2006 Author CID Share Posted September 22, 2006 yep had me on the wrong plan. I'm not sure what plan they had me on but all I know is that it sucked lol. Probably the lowest because that was really slow. They said they messed up when Charter sold the account to Suddenlink.
tommie gorman Posted September 22, 2006 CID Share Posted September 22, 2006 Great, but I bet they did not mind taking your money! Will you be getting a refund for the time spent on the other speed? ?
bsv28 Posted September 22, 2006 Author CID Share Posted September 22, 2006 Probably not. Just two months ago they cut my cable on accident. I gave them a call and they said everything thing was right with the billing. The next day I called them again and they said that they accidently cut mine and the cable that was supposed to be cut was my neighbor's cable. I was furious. I gave them another call and asked if they could credit my account for the time it was cut off. They just plainly said no and that they couldn't do anything like that. To tops things off, they didn't reconnect my cable for a week and a half. I just wish I had an alternative to choose from.
coknuck Posted September 22, 2006 CID Share Posted September 22, 2006 I live in Northern Kentucky and I have no other choice than Insightbb, unless I want dial up.

tommie gorman Posted September 22, 2006 CID Share Posted September 22, 2006 With your speeds you would only choose it over dial-up. Trust me. $59.95 per, 700/128 advertised. Actual is around 1030/33. On the new ones they get around 150U/L. FAP in usage, storm outages, buy equipment (Price: $499.98 + install). Nah, just joking really. http://www.direcway.bz/orderhughesnet.html http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?board=21.0 http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?board=78.0 http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?board=34.0 The three satelite forums. ^^^^
