shiva1 Posted November 27, 2006 CID Share Posted November 27, 2006 can i those pings ... anyways. i dont know where to start, what to ask .. so i'll be :grin2: if one of you help me out of this.... been searching this site(and speedtest.net) for almost two days to know my actual speed. i've done numerous D/U tests till now. and every time i do the test i'm in shock to see the results. today the results were Down : 540kb/s up : 300kb/s my adv connection speed's are 24mb/s(down) and 820kb/s(up). i'm able to download below 300kb/s at any time but not more than that. only once i was able to download at a speed more than 900kb/s. and about my upload : yesterday i was able to upload at 80kb/s and today not even crossing 30kb/s.i'm searching for the telephone exchange right now to know the exact distance. i hope i'm in 3.2km radius. even if i'm not in that radius i should be getting better down speeds i guess(better than 300kb/s if not 900kb/s). that's the summary of my headache. dont know what else i should include in that but ........... tommie gorman Posted December 10, 2006 CID Share Posted December 10, 2006 Let me help explain something here ITALIAN_GUY_22, anytime you pass 500% ... "Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 672.24 % faster than the average for host (net.au) " ...you have cached results. And posting those everywhere will do no good. So just clear out your temporary files and test again next time. Thanks.

tommie gorman Posted December 11, 2006 CID Share Posted December 11, 2006 Am I to assume that the difference is server related? That one might be your distance. One is NY the other is Texas.

dlewis23 Posted December 11, 2006 CID Share Posted December 11, 2006 Ahh yes....the whole distance thing.. forgot about that. Does distance automatically raise your PING time as well? yes it does. If your going to test speedtest.net against testmy.net then you have to test from the dallas texas server so that it is equal distance.
