Mtal1ca Posted November 21, 2006 CID Share Posted November 21, 2006 Today, my local hughes installer came out and repointed me to the SatMex bird. tommie gorman Posted November 21, 2006 CID Share Posted November 21, 2006 If I am not mistaken, it is easier to fix D/L than it is to fix U/L. And the avatar is OK for a chevy.
Mtal1ca Posted November 21, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 21, 2006 Maybe it was was just a momentary lapse of reason. tommie gorman Posted November 21, 2006 CID Share Posted November 21, 2006 That is close, but you might be able to do better. Try testing with the 2992 file test for the D/L and 579 for the U/L. That is what I use all the time. Gives real accurate speeds. Not the smart test.
fikester Posted November 21, 2006 CID Share Posted November 21, 2006 check your uploads in the wee hours....also your rate code, may need to force range.

And like fikester said, check the rate code.
Mtal1ca Posted November 22, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 22, 2006 check your uploads in the wee hours....also your rate code, may need to force range. Could you please tell me how to do that. I have read about it on here before but never checked into it.

fikester Posted November 22, 2006 CID Share Posted November 22, 2006 Looks like you have a 4/5 rate code....your stats show your recent upload at 170, unless your on a office plan 200 is the cap.

I see the option on http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html on force ranging, but would it do any good or would I mess something up? fikester Posted November 22, 2006 CID Share Posted November 22, 2006 Myself dont see where it would improve a 4/5 rate code and a near 200 upload
granpa Posted November 22, 2006 CID Share Posted November 22, 2006 I'm pretty content with these stats. I see the option on http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html on force ranging, but would it do any good or would I mess something up? From what I have read force ranging probably will not help you unless your having a problem, your speeds are good and at the top average for a Pro account. Trying to get a 4/5 which many tried in the beginning of the 7000, and some did, gave higher numbers on occasion along with many more errors. I believe they let it drop back to the 2/3 which is the correct rate code and no more or very few errors. 4/5 works for business accounts.
