g1nked Posted November 30, 2006 CID Share Posted November 30, 2006 I have had it with insightbb the monopoly has gone on long enough either provide what speeds you advertise and we pay for or let some other isps in the Louisville area in so you can see what competition is all about and actually have to provide services instead of constantly saying "we know about the problem and we are working on it as we speak" and thinking that the small percentage of customers that do have a clue whats going on with the disconnects and sh#tty speed fluctuation from minute to minute day to day you just don't know what you will get until you get on and see. All Ive seen since the 2nd of November is crap and I game so I know insightbb hates me because i am one of the 10% that realizes we are getting the shaft.. At least before 10. bl0w was launched i had a constant speed and not near as many disconnects. Right now id be tickled pink for 4mb i seldomly get 2.5 on a good night and normally its more like 1mb.... I was thinking about joining a newsserver but I wouldn't dream about it until Insight gets their heads out of their asses and fixes this great big blunder of a upgrade. I'm calling tomorrow during business hours and getting my bill pro-rated for this month for lack of services rendered.

fikester Posted November 30, 2006 CID Share Posted November 30, 2006 I have had it with insightbb the monopoly has gone on long enough either provide what speeds you advertise I had the same deal with this company QCOL / SC-TV poor performance and sky high prices! Speeds of service available are: *64K w/1-email $25.00/month 128K w/2-emails $45.00/month 256K w/3-emails $65.00/month 512K w/4-emails $95.00/month Faster speeds available and will be priced according to usage, etc. *Not much faster than dial-up Keep in mind the above prices are for surfing only....add another $33 for basic analog TV to watch! Worst part was most channels of the TV side where fuzzy, and the internet was out or not working right most of the time. - customer service always told me the problem was with my PC....its funny that same desktop still running 2yrs later getting the same connection speeds as my new laptop with Hughes. Trust me I dont like paying Hughes Network prices either, but its better than dial up (26k) and (128k cable that dont work)

Swimmer Posted November 30, 2006 CID Share Posted November 30, 2006 its not insight's fault... one of their main routers died If it is insights main router then yet it is their fault.. ISP core routers are a little more advanced then the linksys sitting on your desk.. They are made to run for 24/7 for years without ever going down... Either way the router shouldnt have gone down and even if it did a backup router should have kicked in to re-route traffic.

What swimmer said. ^^^^^^^^^^^ I figured someone as big as your ISP should always have a back up. Be like running a department store without a generator. It would not even make sense. Or better yet how about a coldstorage place. which it did... OH. *hides back in the bushes*

toast6977 Posted December 1, 2006 CID Share Posted December 1, 2006 My very first post! I too have been suffering from Insight's latest folly, I read the message this morning saying that some things have been fixed, and connectivity isn't an issue, so I ran a speed test to see how that department was working, and as of this morning, it's better. I guess we'll see what happens around 4-5, because that's when it's been going all to h*ll.
