tommie gorman Posted December 25, 2006 CID Share Posted December 25, 2006 overboost part of the problem is you keep testing with the smart test. Once more it would be much easier to tell what is going with your cnnection if you would use the same test file size, unless you are still usig the smart test in which case there is no telling With the smart test, your scores are all over the place. Now what did you set the dial at on the TCP Optimizer And are you cleaning out your temp files before testing? And you are in the Phillipines. So distance is a factor also. tommie gorman Posted December 26, 2006 CID Share Posted December 26, 2006 Thanks for tips tommie gorman!! btw my tcp optimizer speed is set at 5000, any recommendations? I would have figured a little closer to 500 overboost, but really, what ever works to get the speeds. Sometimes set it high, sometimes set it low. Each situation is different. overboost Posted January 28, 2007 Author CID Share Posted January 28, 2007 Whoa!!! It's good that this post is still alive!! Mabuhay to all Filipinos who are using this website! elijahpaul welcome! Currently my download speed is in the 400kbps which is way faster than the 250kbps I was experiencing last December. The speed jump was due to me tinkering with the Canopy Software. Smart Bro Inc. set the speed to only 250kbps. The Canopy Software has the option to increase the upload/download speed upto 1000kbps but I was only able to set it to 500kbps max (above that the registered speed is still 500kbps). Salamat Po (thank you)
