Thanatos Posted December 22, 2006 CID Share Posted December 22, 2006 Yeah well hardware isn't exactly my specialty, but I know enough to get me by, except when it comes to graphics cards. If you guys could just tell me which one of these following graphics cards is probably the best I would be very happy. Also tell me if the cheap one is any good lol. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2190054&CatId=0 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2265955&CatId=0 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1892411&CatId=933 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2552706&CatId=0 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2149104&CatId=0 I'll be running high memory games like Neverwinter nights, Fear, etc. So I don't know what I need, also if someone could explain the differences in memory to me (ddr vs ddr-64bit.), and what exactly GDDRX memory is, Lastly what pipelines are (I know I am a noob shh lol). I would really appreciate it. Well lemme know. Thanatos

Try looking for the 7 series. Also www.newegg.com as some pretty nice ones.
gotmilk Posted December 22, 2006 CID Share Posted December 22, 2006 Here is probably your best bet for AGP in that price range: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130051 I'm a noob as well, so I may be wrong. And that cheap card is going to be bad for your kind of games.

I would go with nothing less then a 7600GT btw welcome to the forum Agreed as well... I'm still on AGP myself (7800GS), and I can run all my games at the highest video settings with no lag. I would definitely not go below the 7x series.. How much ram do you have? Those games eat up ram too...If you are under 1 gig of ram, additional ram would probably help you out as well.
