wilkas Posted December 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 You mean advertised like... "Buy our internet plan! Our Optimal (my plan is called like this) speed is 1mb/768kb" ? Like this? If yes, advertised speed is 1024mb/768kb And my ISP is "Teo" (Lithuanian internet provider, shitty by the way :] ) Sorry if i did not understood you correctly :]
dlewis23 Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 one well one problem will be the distance. But you may want to try tweaking with TCP optimizer you can download it here http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-11975
wilkas Posted December 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 But I'm Lithuanian, is this still a problem?
dlewis23 Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 But I'm Lithuanian, is this still a problem? yea that is the big problem because of the distance to the server. but tweaking your connection might help you get a little bit better speed. Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Hope to see it running better soon. General maintenance and cleaning is very vital for performance. Also are you running through a router? Try by passing it and connect the cord directly to the modem.

So, how could i fix that? :] Welcome to the site man, we are glad to have you. I think what Dlewis and the others are saying is right, maybe they are not explaining it in depth enough. What they mean is where you live is FAR away from the server we use to test your speed. So when you test, the information has to go all the way around the world and that is slowing you way down. When someone from the USA tests they are close to the server that we test with, you are just FAR away from us and that is effecting your test score. Hope this helps. The others have done a great job with helping you, I just wanted to welcome you and clarify a little.

tommie gorman Posted December 29, 2006 CID Share Posted December 29, 2006 Hell no, it's not bad. I am only 2 or 3 states away, and that is as good as I get.
Sparticus Posted December 30, 2006 CID Share Posted December 30, 2006 Depending on which mirror you used I would say you have some cleaning up / tweaking to do.
