AgentGOD Posted January 20, 2007 CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 "PermaBOOST" definitely here. Maintained 3.1+ MB/sec throughout the download. News article about similar case.

AgentGOD Posted January 20, 2007 Author CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 Don't know about that.... Before, my speed would shoot up to 2+ MB/sec just until 25 MB of the file is done, and then the speed goes back down to around the 900 KB/s and eventually the 700-800 range. dlewis23 Posted January 20, 2007 CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 its just there messed up system not working right :haha: enjoy it while it lasts I think they would have fixed that by now if it was something wrong. And alot of people have that way, so i think they are trying something.
AgentGOD Posted January 20, 2007 Author CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 I doubt it's FiOS, because the upload speed is too low to compete with it.

Blunted 2 Posted January 20, 2007 CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 i read alot about it also but its not supposed to be like that it is powerboost but some users get it all the time. if it was something else the ISP would say something about a new package or some people would be beta testing it but there isnt. anyway we'll see what happens down the road and again enjoy it

Blunted 2 Posted January 20, 2007 CID Share Posted January 20, 2007 the reason i think its not a speed upgrade is because they arent even close to giving out there 16/1 service yet so why another upgrade if they cant even finish that
AgentGOD Posted January 24, 2007 Author CID Share Posted January 24, 2007 Oh noes, I think the "PermaBoost" is gone. I just tried downloading the OOL FTP Test, and I ended up with speed starting to drop around 19 MB of the download, and continued dropping by approx. 10 KB/sec/sec. Blunted 2 Posted January 24, 2007 CID Share Posted January 24, 2007 told you they would catch on cause on dsl reports they are all complaining about that too.

BLUEDOG314 Posted January 28, 2007 CID Share Posted January 28, 2007 people who are experiancing "permaboost" with speeds of 3+MB / sec, i assume are on the faster plan? is the boost just lasting longer, or is it giving faster speeds than what it is supposed to also. for example the 6mb plan would roughly get 1.5MB / sec, are people going over that?
