cantconnect Posted January 23, 2007 CID Share Posted January 23, 2007 went from 4000 to 7000 in 7/06 as i needed ethernet connection for router. was enjoying1000kbs @$59.00/mo prior. now speed is usually<200. spent hours on the phone with support, had 2 tech. visits to tell me my equipment was ok. also told i would hear from engineering twice. never happened. was rebated 2 months of service. talked to tech this weekend, who tweaked the software. worked for a couple hours. said i may need to change satellites. no other providers where i live. Try reading and doing this whole page. http://www.testmy.net/t-4257 Is there anything running in the baqckground? Try clicking on Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click on the applications tab. fikester Posted January 23, 2007 CID Share Posted January 23, 2007 Do random speed tests on the Hughes site as well (even though its not as accurate) this will help you demonstrate your issue at hand. Most times support only acknowledge Hughes speed test site. Maybe the will put you on a different transponder. Looks like you might be on the phone awhile to get the transponder change? cantconnect Posted January 23, 2007 Author CID Share Posted January 23, 2007 as i said, the speed slows as the day goes on to <100 in the evening at times. i have a long list of slow speed test on hughes site dating back to 7/06. the WORST customer service i have ever dealt with. they did finally rebate me 2 months of service. fikester Posted January 23, 2007 CID Share Posted January 23, 2007 get yourself a good cordless phone and schedule a 4hour setting each day at least 2X week until you get results. Also file a claim online with the BBB...this will get you a call back in most cases from somebody with connections to make things happen.
