Not that I'm complaining, but why the sudden boost? Could it be because I'm so close to your server? (Lufkin, TX)
justinlay Posted September 5, 2007 CID Share Posted September 5, 2007 You are pretty close to the server. I only live @ 50 miles from it. maybe a upgrade you wernt told about??
talon223 Posted September 5, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 5, 2007 Yeah, I was thinking maybe that...Do they still work on the Cox backbones? Did they ever finally switch over? Cox has been doing alot of upgrades in the Houston area I'm fairly certain.
Shug7272 Posted September 5, 2007 CID Share Posted September 5, 2007 Suddenlink told me about 6 months ago they were upgrading all subscribers to 8 down, and a premium account gets 10 down. I believe the upload stays the same. I am getting about 7900 and was at about 4800 before. So to answer your question yes it is a increase and it is here to stay with no cost to you. ghostmaster Posted September 5, 2007 CID Share Posted September 5, 2007 Yes they are supposed to be doubling speeds on all plans. 5mb goes to 10, 4 goes to 8, and 1 goes to 4.(quadruple I know) Hey shug, I didn't know you were a fellow Suddenlink minion... talon223 Posted September 5, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 5, 2007 ahhh..I might just have to hit up these forums again. It's always fun on here. I haven't been on in a WHILE though. If you want a hobby, get just a decent box ..512mb ram, a gfx card, a 40GB hard drive or something...and build an ubuntu/suse/[your distro] ....box. Always something to play with. ahh, gotta find the general forum and ask a question.

Yeah, right now im having a problem during the day when its really hot, my SNR goes from 38 down into the 20s and jerks around a lot. Makes my connection fairly useless when it does.
