REH Posted February 19, 2005 CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 Has anyone else done this? The software is called midpoint, and if you have 2 modems of any type, you can mix and match, or whatever, and 2 NIC's you can actually combine the bandwidth, and I need some help with this. I have the program installed, and it works for me with actual file downloads, but when I do the speedtests on this site it does not actually help out the test on this site? I have had a couple sites that I done tests at and got in the 5-6mb range, but I need to configure it to help out on all aspects of my connection... Thanks -REH

REH Posted February 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 20, 2005 The Software is called Midpoint. Their website is midpoint.com, but it's currently down. I got my version from another source online, it's only a trial version though, but it's completely unlocked with a 20day evaluation period. I'm not sure exactly where I got it from though, sorry i couldn't help you out.

REH Posted February 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 20, 2005 Just figured I'd give a picture of my PC, I did have a picture of the Dual modems, but I removed it and just got a request to put the pictures back up, and this is the only picture I have access to, the dual modem picture will be back up later today. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v481/robertharden/DSC01781.jpg">
BAF Posted February 20, 2005 CID Share Posted February 20, 2005 I have a sb5100 on adelphia. They exchanged the terayons for it. At least in my area, they are moving away from terayon after they decided not to support the CMTS anymore. They even bought a new motorola cmts
REH Posted February 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 20, 2005 Yeah, I knew the Motorola's were available in some areas, but in my little hucklebuck area they are always behind. Maybe some day someone around where I live will offer some real high speed connections, what I have is currently the absolute fastest you can get, and I'm only getting 2800k at the max on speed tests. -REH

Yep, this software allows you to merge any 2 or more type of connections together, if you wanted to, you could merge cable and dialup together, it's a pretty cool program. -REH

REH Posted February 21, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 21, 2005 ty, I need a modem for that right? Yeah you will need to have two completely different connections to use connection bonding. that is pretty sweet.. My point exactly. -REH

REH Posted February 21, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 21, 2005 Sorry I meant to say a Router Router wouldn't help. You need 2 NIC's. -REH
reno Posted February 21, 2005 CID Share Posted February 21, 2005 You won't get anymore bandwidth outa it. And it only works with download. I was looking at how it works what it will do is when you have a large download it will use the same amount of speed.

You shouldn't put down other people's things when the fact is that you probably dont even have what I have to begin with, so why post this? My wires may not be ran in the most "beautiful" way, I agree. No, I don't currently have my video card installed, but I do own a video card, but it cannot be installed on this motherboard that I am running right now because it does not have an AGP slot, but rest assure, I have a new mobo on order right now. No, I do not feel that i need a heatsink mount cpu fan due to the fact that I have 3 fans mounted on the case, (2) 80mm side fans, and one I believe 120mm rear fan. And btw, no my -processor is a P4 2.2ghz, which I realize is also not the greatest processor which will also be upgraded to a 3.0ghz P4, and I'm running 640mb of RAM. Any other questions or comments? -REH
