Grambler Posted May 8, 2011 CID Share Posted May 8, 2011 I hope someone here can help me with this. I have a Sony VAIO notebook with a Intel PRO/100 network adapter that is failing. This to my understanding is a obsolete unit. Can someone tell me if there is a newer unit that will plug into the same mini pci slot and work for my notebook. Thanks you in advance. Grambler Posted May 11, 2011 Author CID Share Posted May 11, 2011 Could I possibly upgrade to a wireless N adapter like this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106040 It appears to be the same interface.
TriRan Posted May 11, 2011 CID Share Posted May 11, 2011 possibly you'll probably need a driver for it unless you run windows 7 and even then you may, or it may just not be compatibile at all. its a 50-50 deal lol also the disable wireless switch on your laptop probably won't work if you do
