xs1 Posted March 19, 2005 CID Share Posted March 19, 2005 The tracert is very nice. Which leads me to believe its your browser or your machine. Try using a dfifferent internet browser to take the speed test. ( hi-jacked browsers will show low performance) and also scan and update with virus and adaware software. After all of this is complete ( be honest.. we wont help lazy folk <.< ) then we can move on with cablenut and tweak that conection of yours

FaT_PHiL Posted March 19, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 19, 2005 im using road runner, i have done a bunch of adware and virus scan but nothing seems to help. it definitly has to be packetloss because i have my 5 megs down speed and then it just spikes .. the download took 128 seconds to complete but like 110 of those seconds were me staring at a frozen loading bar.. i was actually about to format and i figured i would check out the thread.. amazing i got here without freezing and i cant run a pathping because im using win 98 SE.. so it says bad filename/invalid anything else i can do to give u a better understanding of my connection?
