waytek98 Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 Thanks! Great site.... I just cleared the cache and retested with the same results I have had broadband for about 10 years now and I cringe when I think of the old dialup days! I started in 1978 with a 300 baud acoustical modem and a heath terminal.
tommie gorman Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 You might try with your firewall down. If you are using any boosters you might turn them off also. "505.55 %" might get argued with. And if you are retesting, don't use the back button. Just hit retest at the top.
waytek98 Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 I'll try another browser that hasn't been to the site..... As far as the firewall, I am too nervous to disable it - Norton Internet Security 2006. I'll retest and post though... Thanks
tommie gorman Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 On the firewall, I was at first too. But as long as you only use it for the test, you should be fine. And just turn it back on right after.
waytek98 Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 I just tried it with IE and I did disable the firewall... I have NO accelerators or special software loaded but I scored too high (over 60Mbps)...? Weird! I am going through a standard WRT54G Linksys router and obviously these results are erroneous. tommie gorman Posted August 4, 2006 CID Share Posted August 4, 2006 Then try it without the router. If you can. Just a thought.
