GUnit Posted August 9, 2006 CID Share Posted August 9, 2006 you are right, it was cached , the browser i was using seemed to keep the files in a different folder than the rest of the temp files, but needless to say.. before comcast upgraded i was only getting an upload avg of 50kb/s to my website and now i get about 2.8mb/s avg. they said they're upgrade was only going to affect the d/l and raise it to 12mb/s.. i ran the test on another browser and got lower scores... and ran different size on the same browser and got lower scores as well

tracydexter Posted August 10, 2006 CID Share Posted August 10, 2006 I'd love to get the 50Mbps download package from Verizon once it becomes available here in Dallas. So far, I think its most recently been introduced in New York. But I wonder what the monthly price tag is on that little jewel since I'm already paying $189.99/mo. for my current 30Mbps service

tracydexter Posted August 10, 2006 CID Share Posted August 10, 2006 I would have to hope that is a business, too steep for my blood. You better believe it goes on an expense report every month. It took a lot of convincing to get them to agree on it since they made me start working from home after they saw the mileage and maintenance reports on a brand new work vehicle they purchased for me. I took delivery of that vehicle with 4 miles on it...Now, a year later, it has over 65,000 miles on it from running service calls in my area. Granted, my area goes from Oklahoma City,OK down to Waco,TX and out to Tallahasee, FL. I think they feel that $190 a month is MUCH cheaper! FIOS wasn't on a special deal here for 30Mbps. When I got the 30Mbps service, the only specials they were running at the time was getting the 15Mbps package at the same price as the 5Mpbs package. gabeindenver Posted August 13, 2006 CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 Funny you are asking what my rated speed is... I posted that in the Subject line. I am rated for 12 Megabits but my modem doesnt seem to train at the full rated speed. I am not complaining though! Comcast speeds degrade during peak usage where as DSL NEVER degrades since its dedicated. The fastest that I have seen my modem train is at 11.3 Mbps. Sucks though... I am moving in about a week and a half and Qwest doesnt support that nice high speed where I am moving to... The fastest where I am moving to in Wesminster Colorado is Comcast supposedly. I checked with Qwest and where I am moving to there is only the 1.5 meg available at that location so I am gonna have to sign up with Comcrap... oops, comcast and pray that their new PowerBoost that claims it can jump to 12 megs upon high demand will actually work. ****PRAY FOR ME PEOPLES*** I cant stand comcast but I need the speed one way or another for game hosting :::..
