mrp Posted October 14, 2003 CID Share Posted October 14, 2003 I miss my days of high upload speeds, but then again, I think about it now and I never really used more than my 256k upload I currently have. High upload speeds are for those who like to share illegal files and such. RIAA FO' LYFE!

fred Posted December 21, 2003 CID Share Posted December 21, 2003 sorry Guy you need to check in on this speed report because I have read some where that up is not supposed to be faster than down these pages to follow is where I have read about this paticular problem http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/
ice Posted December 21, 2003 CID Share Posted December 21, 2003 What kind of line is that supposed to be ca3le?
CA3LE Posted December 22, 2003 CID Share Posted December 22, 2003 That is from a trunk line ... rules that will apply to a residential line don't in that world ... that is on a shared gigabit network.. if someone on the line is using alot of the upload bandwidth it can happen. hehe, dude that line is primo bandwidth ~~ I have uploaded a file on that line at well over 100 Mbps, that was just durring rush hour at the office ~~ that is what I use to test my servers connection speed Wish I had that much bandwidth at home. VanBuren Posted December 22, 2003 CID Share Posted December 22, 2003 if you havent tweaked your TCP settings My advise is to aim for a high downloadspeed cos you use that probl 99% of all surfing on web. Do like this: 1: run this TCP analyzer http://forums.speedguide.net:8117/ 2: find that MSS value for ex:1460 3: run this RWIN calculator http://www.dslnuts.com/bitsbytes.shtml 4: Bandwith is your ISP advertised speed, Latency is your average ping to your isp, Use the MSS value from TCP analyzer. 5: Now you shold have a optimized RWIN value for your connection. 6: download and install cablenut program http://www.dslnuts.com/software.shtml 7: Go to start-programs-cablenut-adjuster in top left corner click open file, browse to ccs folder choose the connection you have and OS ex: cable fast win xp "cable_fast_2k" 8: Now you got a few values set in adjuster, change TcpWindowSize to that RWIN value you calculated before. Good luck
VanBuren Posted December 22, 2003 CID Share Posted December 22, 2003 dont forget to click save to registry before you leave adjuster, and reboot your system.
