CA3LE Posted July 8, 2004 CID Share Posted July 8, 2004 it's just the way that the pages are handled .. Netscape in some cases offers less overhead. I personally would stick with IE though... but just use what you are comfortable with Microsoft must be doing something right... only 2% of my visitors are using Netscape now, down from 30% between 1999-2002 I used to use Netscape (mozilla) myself --- but IE has been kickin' Mozilla's butt the past few years

And yes, I'm an IE user. Too lazy to change

MICROWAVE Posted July 9, 2004 CID Share Posted July 9, 2004 Well, I have used most of the different browsers over the years, but I have found that I like IE best .I dont have a scientific reason only that it works for me and I like it.Now Ive heard all the stuff that Mac doesn't get any viruses and bla bla bla...of course I agree with that statement because it doesn't have the users that IE has and the asswipes that write viruses want to effect the most people.......so ..anyway thats my 2cents. I think the best is what YOU like and is easy for you to use:) Microwave

Swimmer Posted July 9, 2004 CID Share Posted July 9, 2004 I think that we all "grew" up with IE as the standard browser... think about it... that is why microsoft it in the legal trouble right now... What they have done is make it so my generation only really knew about IE and used it... Of course you have the odd people who are using Netscape and other varents but that is really uncommon... my website gets about 99% of its views through IE... MICROWAVE Posted July 9, 2004 CID Share Posted July 9, 2004 hmmmm 99% I didnt realize it was that high,interesting......no wonder the other guys are pissed.....but where were those guys when Gates wrote the OS for IBM for NOTHING....all he wanted was the exclusive contract with IBM to only use microsoft and as they say the rest is???~~~ what is it they say??.....really smart guy and he was very young at the time....real cool:) Microwave
Swimmer Posted July 9, 2004 CID Share Posted July 9, 2004 Well my stat is really not based on reality... I happen to run a site for my swim team lol go figure.. But it also happens that over half of the people who visit my site dont know how to use adobe acrobat... You should have seen how many problems we had with this one issue... I clearly stated that you need at least 5.0.... I had people call me about it when they didnt read and we still running 3.0... lol So expecting them to download a different browser other than what is installed would be like the earth ending... hmm... I wonder what would happen if I steal their computer and put a distro of linux on them... O well that is what happens i guess
