indygo18 Posted April 19, 2005 CID Share Posted April 19, 2005 Hello all... Just upgraded from Verizon's 1.5/784 to their 3.0/784 for the same price of $29.95 per month. I ran some speed tests w/ the default CableNut settings for this speed. Can this be tweaked? Or should I just shut my pie hole and be happy? Thanks! :::.. VanBuren Posted April 19, 2005 CID Share Posted April 19, 2005 i would leave it like that, 2531Kbps then add approx 10% overhead, thats 1,1x 2531 = 2784 / 3000 = 92.8 % of your advertised speed dowstream 740 x 1,1 = 814 / 768 = 106 % of your advertised speed upstream nice

cmarkmyers Posted April 21, 2005 CID Share Posted April 21, 2005 Even so, when I had Verizon I always was much, much closer to the advertised speed. I would think he would be closer to 2.8 at least. Especially since he is almost spot on with the advertised upload speed. But you are the expert
VanBuren Posted April 22, 2005 CID Share Posted April 22, 2005 i can agree to that cmarkmyers, with perfect adjusted settings and low traffic on the route, the speed should be better approx 2700 to 2800Kbps you can finetune the settings in that 3000 768 cablenut file if you like to get abit more IndyGo18, make sure to test at off peak hours then i suggest these values 128000, 256000 you can also test reduce your TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize i suggest you try these if your using a router 63888, 31944 and these if you connect direct to modem 63360, 31680 also set Tcp1323Opts to 0 click save to registry after each change and reboot your pc VanBuren
