php Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 Orignal_Cronicus: it gives you a MTU of 1516 when you test against yourself. Do the test against testmy.net I also got 1516 when i tested against my own computer, but got 1500 against internet servers. edit: i got 1519 when using an increment of 1 byte against myself... cholla Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 php : Thanks I'm downloading it now.I will install it sometime this afternoon.I still beleive the max is 1500 at least from everything I've read .Setting it higher should cause packet loss unless something defaults to 1500 even when it is set higher. Orignal_Cronicus Posted May 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 ya u can get it off gogle i got mine from a friend but i will not use it to tweak anything just as a caculator, now logicly 1500 is the max possible but when i decrease the mtu to 1500 or 1499 it loooses speed
cholla Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 I downloaded & installed iSpeed .All it will give me is "Request timed out." It must work on ping which my ISP blocks. So it will not work for me.
php Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 yea, it relies on pings... its about the same as typing ping [server] -l -f

Orignal_Cronicus Posted May 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 yes i stil;l will never to fall to the mass confusion of rwin should be set off multiples of mss unless.... Do U Think that cable nut could make it even faster"ive never tried it" specifily u think it could boost upload? or would it juist be greedy trying to go even faster than this rofl
php Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 cablenut is just used to save rwin and other settings to your registry... since you don't believe our rwin and mss settings, you would have to do some experimentation on your own of settings that work best and what you want to try... Orignal_Cronicus Posted May 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 i c so cablenut is just another controller of rwin ms mtu etc. does it have additional options per say that u couldent change ur self via the reg and ms dos?
php Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 i don't believe so, it's just a much easier way to change them...
