failing monitor

Recommended Posts

help ive got a big problem

ive got a monitor that keeps overheating

its a old 1 a 18'' compaq presario boob tube style and im trying to use it on a 3rd comp im going to network but it keeps overheating i guess

ive reduced everything to minimal setings mounted a fan on top, and it sill does this

only it lasts a lil longer now

what it does is after about 30 minuts to 1 hour it makes the sound u hear when u turn off ur monitor the screen goes blank and the lil light stays green though until it returns to normal temp or w/e then it goes to the yello standby color

i have seen the whole screen turn to a bluish shade then go blank a couple times but

wtf would cause this?
