xs1 Posted May 18, 2005 CID Share Posted May 18, 2005 The slowdowns like that are not anything on your side, thats actually on Comcast . They have too many people assigned to your node, and when their all on at the same time ( peak hours ) youll get very low speeds.. They will never admit this, and theirs a good chance will not fix it ( at least for a while), I mean i could be wrong, but after cleaning your PC thorughly and using cablenut settings, thats about the best we can do. ~ If anything, you may want to try getting another modem to test it out. ( like buy one, try it out, then return it.. lol altho i dont recomend this....yea... ) Because with my roadrunner ( powered by mindspring/Earthlink) I went thru 3 or 4 modems before i got a working one. [edit] BTW, from here in florida i have a 0% loss to you at all, so that tech was full of shit methinks.
