slow comcast in los angeles

my test is as follows:

Connection is:: 858 Kbps about 0.9 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Download Speed is:: 105 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main)

Test Time:: Tue May 17 22:35:13 PDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 15X faster than 56K 1MB download in 9.75 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 23.76 % of your hosts average (Comcast.net)

my advertised speed is 4000/384

i had cleaned my pc, downloaded the newest driver for my NIC.  also changed the dns to 4.2.2.1 and 4,2,2,5.  got cablenut and uploaded van burens values.

im kinda frustrated now....

it's funny, now it's 8 am pacific and my tests are:

Download Speed is:: 566 kB/s

Test Time:: Wed May 18 07:46:06 PDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 83X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.81 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 28.39 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net)

The slowdowns like that are not anything on your side, thats actually on Comcast . They have too many people assigned to your node, and when their all on at the same time ( peak hours ) youll get very low speeds.. They will never admit this, and theirs a good chance will not fix it ( at least for a while),  I mean i could be wrong, but after cleaning your PC thorughly and using cablenut settings, thats about the best we can do.

~ If anything, you may want to try getting another modem to test it out. ( like buy one, try it out, then return it.. lol altho i dont recomend this....yea... )  Because with my roadrunner ( powered by mindspring/Earthlink) I went thru 3 or 4 modems before i got a working one.

BTW, from here in florida i have a 0% loss to you at all, so that tech was full of shit methinks.
