Inquisitor Posted August 11, 2004 CID Share Posted August 11, 2004 They must have competition. Otherwise, these prick companies will keep it as low as they can while trying to steal as much money as possible.
CA3LE Posted August 11, 2004 Author CID Share Posted August 11, 2004 They must have competition. Otherwise' date=' these prick companies will keep it as low as they can while trying to steal as much money as possible.[/quote'] I think they might have done it because there is an inside scoop that qwest (and some other DSL providers) are/is coming out with 3Mbps DSL for pretty cheap... Inquisitor Posted August 12, 2004 CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 $45 a month, for 1.5 mbps (advertised as 2.0 mbps) They can do this, only because there's essentially no competition. If there's a hint that Cox, or whomever, is coming to town, I guarantee their service will improve. To no avail, because I'd sign up with Cox immediately. MICROWAVE Posted August 12, 2004 CID Share Posted August 12, 2004 They must have competition. Otherwise' date=' these prick companies will keep it as low as they can while trying to steal as much money as possible.[/quote'] Well I only speak from my own experience....and in Tucson Cox>HSI Broadband is way better than any DSL here, frequent crashes and very slow speeds on all DSL that I have seen(again Tucson)most of my friends have gone to COX after seeing it on my system.... I dont work for COX, but I have never had any problems and to get anything for free in this day and time is a good thing in my book, I pay $39.95 per month for 3000/256 and I have always been faster than that ,and NOW Im much faster so Im happy.AOL dial up is over $20.00 a month...and of course any dial up sucks big time!! dezzz Posted August 20, 2004 CID Share Posted August 20, 2004 Comcast is capped at approx. 3.1mbps for the $45/month in the Philly area but at least they doubled it recently from the 1.5mpbs. for the same pice. I'am jealous of you Cox users getting 4,5 & 6mbps downloads. As Jim Carey would say GUUUUD Alrighty Then
