resijs Posted July 4, 2005 CID Share Posted July 4, 2005 My router is overloaded with ports forwarded, I don't have any more space to do more! Does anyone have any idea of how to increase the amount of ports I can forward with my router? Windows XP Home Linksys WRT54G v3
pacmantravis Posted July 4, 2005 CID Share Posted July 4, 2005 Im having the same problem with the same exact router. I think the only way might be to upgrade to a 3rd party firmware. HyperWRT or the one by Sveasoft I think. I dont wanna change firmware though as the latest version of the official linksys firmware (4.0.0.7 I think) is the only one that fixes my problem with Large wireless transfers timing out. Any suggestions?
Mactron Posted July 4, 2005 CID Share Posted July 4, 2005 Good grief guys. How may things are you forwarding? My old D-link has room for twenty entries, I've used seven. If you have that many ports forwarded, maybe it's time to just DMZ your machine . :haha:

resijs Posted July 4, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 4, 2005 DMZ was ineffective and showed the same results, "You need to bypass your cruddy router!"
reno Posted July 4, 2005 CID Share Posted July 4, 2005 Look around for moded firmware. I know there are some that make it so you can add more ports. Source Forge might be a good place to look. http://sourceforge.net/search/ then search wrt54g.
