FallowEarth Posted July 15, 2005 CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 You don't have to tweak, it's just an option if you want ot try boosting your speed a bit. Not necessary though, if that's what you mean.
wyantm06 Posted July 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 Ok, Thats exactly what I ment!!! Thanks...On one of these forums I read it said that people usually "tweak" when they want to boost or if they are not receiving the amount of power they are supposed too, about how many people usually have problems getting that 90% of what RR says your supposed to get?? Because I want to be the one who receives 90% or better without tweaking...One last thing now, can I hook my PS2 up without paying extra on the bill to play PS2 online?? Like is there things I can buy so I can hook this RR up in my room without getting charged extra?? Thanks...You people are SSOOOOO MUCH HELP!!! richcornucopia Posted July 15, 2005 CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 You can buy a router, or get one from time warner to rent. Basically what this does is it hooks up to your Road Runner modem and it splits your connection. Because it splits your connection you can hook up multiple computers, or PS2's. richcornucopia Posted July 15, 2005 CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 The Motorola is better than the Toshiba, its also not that big of a deal. I have a Motorola SB4200 and I still get fast speeds.

wyantm06 Posted July 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 Ok, I called and made a change!! I told her I wanted the Motorola SB5120, and I had them add to what to bring a router to hook up and everything!! So I think I should be set, now I'm just hoping everything runs smooth and runs at the 90% of what RR speed is or better, without tweaking because I don't want to do that
Dark_Matter Posted July 15, 2005 CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 Windows is not optimized for broadband, and to achive your full advertised speed some tweaking of the TCPRecieve window will be needed atleast. So go ahead, and just do some tweaking ehhh. If you need assistance myself or someone here would gladly help you.
wyantm06 Posted July 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 15, 2005 Yeah but by the looks of the directions on how to tweak looks a little difficult...May I ask how long does it usually take to tweak your RR Internet??
