Gregorama Posted October 15, 2004 CID Share Posted October 15, 2004 Bah, bad luck I guess. Well hey, at least you are getting what you are capped at. I get about 2.4 mbps, and I pay for 3.

Swimmer Posted October 15, 2004 CID Share Posted October 15, 2004 Linksys.. Everyone who i talk to says "o linksys.. I never have problems with them... and dlink is crap" Well looks like it is having a problem.. CA3LE is there the much difference between the motorola and the linksys modem? shouldnt the speeds be closer than that?
CA3LE Posted October 15, 2004 Author CID Share Posted October 15, 2004 The linksys kicked ass... I ran it for a year with no problem. The motorolat still doesn't perform as good as the linksys did. and yes... DLink is crap
shanee Posted October 15, 2004 CID Share Posted October 15, 2004 I have a dlink and I agree it is pretty much crap because like I said it is blocking me from running any kind of server through it. I have put the server in dmz zone to and still it blocks it I have also setup port forwarding and it still blocks it it is a peace of crap I agree!!!! wingzero2309 Posted October 15, 2004 CID Share Posted October 15, 2004 i have linksys befw11sr wireless b broadband router and it works quite well one thing i didnt like was that the wireless was really slow at first, but then i went into one of the options and changed something called "1-2Mbps" to "1-2-5.5-11Mbps" and now the wireless connection runs just as fast as the computers wired to the router the only prob with linksys i've had is that it sometimes does something weird and doesnt get my RR ip and dns servers, so i have to reset it and 'install' it again with the cd that came with it

Is it 802.11b or 802.11g?? Everytime I have ever put a computer on my wireless I always get way slower... then again I have a 1st generation Netgear wireless 802.11b router ~~ But it still should get 11 Mbps... - Damon
