Did the tests without ZoneAlarm. Thinking of installing another firewall instead.

MaxOnline 6500 at a monthly fee of $79.80 (w/GST) per month

Offering you download speeds of up to 6.5Mbps (6,500Kbps) and upload speeds of up to 384Kbps.

Still way below the 6500kps. Sharing a connection with another comupter on the router, but even with that comp switced off, the results are still the same...

Ed

hey Eddie and welcome to the forum :)

also test speed here

http://ndt-hc.twaren.net:7123/

and make a traceroute to that server

if speed is still bad, try changing DefaultReciveWindow from 384000 to 128000, click save to registry and reboot

What exactly is wrong? My ISP?

Ed

Looks like your router is affecting your speeds and blocking some stuff.  Try visiting the Linksys site and getting the latest firmware for the router.  You can also try connecting your PC directly to the modem, then reset your modem and PC...then try the traceroute and speed test again to compare.

Hi FallowEarth : His first tracert to testmy wasn't getting the time outs .They started after he started tracerting to ndt-hc.twaren.net ..I think Eddie misunderstood Van Buren who only wanted him to do the NDT test there. This NDT test is located in Taiwan I think which could explain the timeouts at least partly. So see if  Eddie is getting timeouts to a closer site.Maybe testmy again to start with.
