Swimmer Posted September 13, 2005 CID Share Posted September 13, 2005 There is alot of government issues when it comes to allowing ISP to offer a service.. Your town might have dark fiber in your area but you town government has yet to sign a contract with Verizon to allow them to service your area. The best bet would be to call Verizon.. if they say that they dont know find a someone in the local government that could find out the information for you.. Swimmer Posted September 14, 2005 CID Share Posted September 14, 2005 if you know there is dark fiber in the area.. then i would think that is should be there as verizon equipment can be installed...

Swimmer Posted September 14, 2005 CID Share Posted September 14, 2005 you might want to search the archives for a good idea where the fiber is being used.. ny is starting to come online.. http://newscenter.verizon.com/nr/index.vtml

But I don't think that mean I can get it lol without paying a million dollars lol. I want fios to is sucks I am in oklahoma lol.
Swimmer Posted September 15, 2005 CID Share Posted September 15, 2005 Yeah my guess is that is going to be their internet/ site to site connection... If they are going to be using fiber that might mean that you will see fiber shortly.. If they are going to be bring in a huge conneciton.. my guess would be that soon it would be available to consumers..
