  1. I'd say I'm averaging about 2MBps or less overall.
  2. I wish this were true but I know it's not. This is NOT a cached result either. I cleared my cache before running this test. I've gotten this kind of result from the smarttest a couple of times in the last couple of days. I tested with mirranda right after this it correctly clocked my speed at 15Mbps. I'm on the 15/2 fios plan. Is there something going on with the testmy download test? I'm not getting any weird results from the upload test. :::.. 3. But the important point here is that the future is fiber not copper. The only way you'll ever see anything approaching Gbps broadband is with fiber. I keep reading all these post from people who keep touting the future of cable and it makes me laugh. Comcast and the other cable providers will never be able to eclipse the speeds of fiber to the home.
  4. Yeah I'll give you that. I'd still like to see Verizon up the ante on that. :::.. 6. I've used this test before and it never accurately clocks my fios 15/2 download speed. But it seems to be pretty accurate on the upload. Part of the problem could be the ping, 299ms round trip is pretty damn slow for me.
  7. Just because Google rounds differently then testmy doesn't mean they're right. Perhaps they should adopt the testmy approach!
  8. Thanks guys this is great information!!!
  9. I'm not sure if this the best forum to post this in but I'm sure it will get moved if it's not. I'm looking at putting together a web based discussion forum for my company and I love this site. Could one of the site moderators let me know what hosting company is used, cost, etc.?
  10. And I promise to keep rubbing your noses in it
  11. I had just gotten Fios installed and was looking for a test server that could actually handle the speed. I did some Google searches and came across testmy. Turns out that testmy.net is located in Dallas not too far from where I live. This has become my standard benchmark speed test.
  12. I agree RAINMAKA, since my connection is 15/2 that makes perfect since to me. Pretty cool test tool. I'd love to have this test in English pointed at US servers.
  13. Wow Van....thanks for that. This is a very cool test. If I'm translating this correctly it's telling me that my max download is 15.89 Mbps max upload is 1.93 Mbps and actual is 1.7 Mbps up and 3.5 Mbps down. Is that correct?
  14. How can I tell where the mirrors are located?
  15. My connection rocks with this site. But then, I'm probably only 10 miles from them as the crow flies.
  16. Okay.............sorry for the intrusion.
  17. I can get pretty good speeds to Switzerland. Can you recommend a mirror in Sweden?
