i haven't cleaned out spam in a while in my outlook 2000 inbox and at 16383 items it decided to no longer retrieve messages from the server. had to delete some to be abe to receive messages...

another spamsink account i check with outlook express meanwhile is at 24000 and counting...

i never knew this either, just saw it on break and wanted to post it.

so 32 AAs means 8 in parallel times 4 with the 4 blocks of eight in series to get the 6 volts.

remember, a AAA AA C or D is not a battery. it is in actuality just a cell that happens to deliver 1.5 volts. that is why the 6 and 9 volt batteries have multiple cels (hence a BATTERY of cells.)

the lead acid cell in a car battery has 1.2 volts, same as a NiCd cell. NimH and LiIon cells to my knowledge deliver 1.5 volts again, but i would have to check that.

the clock until the harddrive croaks is ticking. scandisk probably took 2 minutes because you didn't have it do the thorough check sector by sector. and 2 hours sounds about right for a sector check on a 500 gig drive. as for crashing on autosave, it could be trying to get to a bad sector there. do you hear the "clunk" noise when it does that?

hm. try removng the video drivers in safe mode so they get reinstalled on boot.

that 'clunk' the drive makes is it's way of telling you to back up any data on it. now. it is the sound it makes when the heads panic and go into the parked position because of a bad sector. you can try booting to the command prompt and running scandisk with a thorough sector by sector check a few times. if there are only a few bad sectors, it will mark them as bad and reassign them. if the problem persists or goes away and comes back and gets worse until you do the scandisk again it is definitely telling you that the clock is ticking.

i have only had a couple minutes on the 360 the ps3 and the Wii.

i have to say i am not a fan of the usual console games (except maybe action racing or nhl hockey) and the graphics on the 360 and ps3 are as good as they are to be expected for the price. but the fun factor of the Wii control concept cinched it for me. if i was to buy one of the three it would be the Wii.

well I'm still here in this holey land of Iraq hope you all have not missed me to much ..i have got some pretty good pics to try to  up load when i get home on R&R ..we have lost 6 great Soldiers so far 5 to IEDS and one to a sniper .. its pretty rough going out side the wire .. i use to worry a lot about it but  now i just get geared up and roll out. don't roll the tanks  very much- to big to fit down the city streets .. hey i did run over a guy in the my Tank ..i really did ..we rolling back from a mission and going through a check point i was the second tank and i guess he was trying to get out of the way and he missed judged  and I'm sorry to say 72 tons just don't stop on a dime ..he didn't make it. man that wasn't pretty  .other then that no more confirm kills  been in a few fire fights and we have found a lot of the IEDS the hard way and not the easy way ..

please give a prayer out for those great soldiers ..let me know if i shouldn't post any news like this. sorry if i offended anyone
