    I think I wont have a problem with this, only reason Im doing this,is my current PC is not capable of getting upgraded to this newer technology,but still runs like a charm :evil6:

    Any opinions on the choice I made....even though the order went through already :lol:

    Not bad.....but 18 hops lol :shocked:

  4. There is a slight difference but nearly nothing after restarting router and modem.  Is it possable that msn.com for example does not want anyone doing a trace route to them for ... security reasons?  There are definitly some good reasons to not alow traceroutes to "important" servers.

    :police:

    Getting 3600 - 3980kbps on a connection capped at 4Mbps is fine by me.  Now, if the cap was moved to 5Mbps I would reach the RR average of 4700kbps.

    :angel:

    Yes there are some sites that do not allow ICMP either one way or both ways.

    But about your speeds, depending on your area and the level of competition it could go even higher than 5Mbps at one point :wink:

  5. google.com = 33% loss

    yahoo.com = 33% loss

    dogpile.com = 33% loss

    msn.com =  100% loss

    pcpitstop.com = 33% loss

    nytimes.com = 100% loss

    flowers.com = 33% and 66% loss

    breadstick.com = 100% loss

    :grin2: pizzahut.com = 33% loss

    Try resetting both your modem and router if you have one

    PS...nice choice of sites :haha:

  6. Only 2 out of every 3 packets makes it to the destination.  Or am i miss reading?

    tracertjm5.png

    No you're right...it does look weird that the third one doesn't go but as long as each hop along the way responds, your ok

    Btw....when you do a trace route to another site..do you get the same thing...with 33% packet loss?

  7. Thats why :sad:

    From what I know...users who were on Adelphia's  4/384 and migrated over to RR are still seeing 4/384 instead of RR's equivalent tier of 5/384 or whatever is standard in that specific area.

    Also I have heard that they are working out the kinks of this massive takeover and once thats done...there will be a more uniform way of placing users with specific speeds, so in other words, you will be seeing RR speeds instead of Adelphia speeds :smiley:
