IS this safe I just got this comp, and I have a 6 meg connection, with my old Emachines and windows xp I was able to tweak it so that my downloads speeds rarely went below 500kB/sec Now this vista home edition is killing me, the fastest I get is 140kB/sec and thats after using firefox down them all, if not my download speed is cut down to 25/kbsec, MAN THIS S#!t SUX, IM lost is my connection bad or what is gong on.

I haven't dealt with them since last year but I remember, that I would have to come up with insane lies just to get the rep to listen to me, my favorite was I'm going to prison and I don't think I need Aol in prison. or that I'm joining the peace corps or the army, but that was to be expected since I was just using the free month, you think they would catch on after I used the same debt to activate and deactivate like 6 months in a row.

I had that same problem, I got my internet cut off for like a month and when I returned to Comcast they gave me that modem, that Night I tested my speed and it was pathetic, I was getting %7 of my advertised speed I took it back and got my old Motorola Sb520, and low and be hold the problem was solved, so my advice take it back and say my comp is having issues with this modem I would like a different one. we don't have the exact same model but both are RCA.
