What do you mean by boost speeds?

Hello all, I am having some speed issues that I am concerned about, I am receiving much higher than I am paying for. I am paying for 6/384 connection but unfortunatly I am not receiving that. Wow, after a check up to see that the speeds were still at normal, it seems I have run into the problem again. :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 399 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 49 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 346 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 42 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/08/02 - 1:44pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-OGDW6VT80 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-9SFZOV4TN If it could be a coaxial problem then why do the upload speeds not suffer?
-
Wow, thats pretty bad on Comcasts side. But I only did about 4 tests, and connection came back at full force randomly. I moved into this home about 3 weeks ago, it was pre-wired so the Time Warner tech didn't look at any of the wiring. So im pretty sure theres a faulty connector somewhere along the line. I have the 3 package deal with them, digital tv, phone and internet. The only service that slowed down or noticed a drop of connection was my internet, tv and phone were both fine. But there has been some occasions where the phone doesn't receive a dial tone and simply messing with the coax brings it back up. When I get enough time, Ill replace all the coax in this home, untill then, im about 99.9% sure its a faulty connector. By the way, welcome to the forums Prodeus, if this is your first time here, I bid you welcome. Thanks for your support aswell.

Yeah, 80% of my thoughts were contributing to that, but after waiting a bit, my speeds have made there way back up to normal. Hrm, could one of my coax's be messing up, or was this just a technical problem with Time Warner? :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 5027 Kbps about 5.03 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 614 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 364 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 44 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/08/02 - 12:40pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-N94R3OBYT U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-RPSEN8CFI Lol, atleast the problem didn't last long, Time Warner is the first provider that I feel actually cares about customer satisfaction. I rate that their best quality, now if they start talking about upgrading speeds, I would be a happy camper, but they dominate the speeds in my area . Have been thinking about upgrading to the 8/768 package, but haven't needed the speeds for anything.

Ran into some recent speed problems with my current provider, untill today I have been 100% pleased with Time Warner's Road Runner service (cable internet). I pay for a 5Mbps/384Kbps connection for about 49ish a month, give or take tax's. But logging on today, I noticed my ping and latency's were a bit high while gaming. Came here to check speeds, surely enuff my download speeds are crashing to the ground, and upload speeds are slow. 1st Download Test: :::::::::::::::::.. Also I have tried all the stickys, The above results are with firewall(s) off, and virus protection disabled. Before this, my speeds avg'd 4.9-5.1Mbps / 340's Kbps. Im thinking this is a signal problem on Time Warners end, because recently my modem has been losing connection with the send and recieve lights going off. Sometimes when I restart my modem the send light doensn't even light up, I have to play with the coaxial to get it to connect. If anyones got any suggestions about this problem, or any questions, dont hesitate to reply or send me a email at [email protected]. Thanks in advance. In the end, I'll most likely ending up showing up at Time Warner's office with a baseball bat.

-
Yo vanburen or someone who knows alot about networking and cablenut, does cablenut limit the speed of LAN transfers, because to different computers were transfering and the max speed would not reach above 1034 kb/s.
