  1. wow, great info ambit, how did you know the manufacturer just from the model number...? I shall add you to my list of the very sweet.
  2. With AIM I have had a similiar problem, in the middle of the upload, it froze, but on the other computer it was still going. So I was like WTF?! But yea...
  3. <--- L@@K at my personal message its a basic view of the picture, the only difference is maybe the lights and logo's, but all the same style...

  5. LOL, 1/4 of a second! Yea 128 might do good for nothing. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HOSTING ANYTHING ON 128KBPS UPLOAD. 128kbps is just simply not enough power, people will be whining 100% of the time.
  6. I am sorry I can't give you an definate answer, but I know Verizon's FiOs plans are much better than Comcasts...
  7. Sweet good for you, A lot of people seem to love comcast, im thinking about switching over into that world. But ofcourse I will get the 8/768 package.
  8. He's most likely got the 5/256 package, and yes downloading something will definately effect your upload, because it causes collision domains. But nice download, you might want to try a upload test with bitorrent off. Nice download speeds though.
  9. Chewie, those speeds are way faster than any DSL or Cable connections I have ever seen. Your school is probably running fiber, or OC3, or something of the sort. A typical DSL connection is about 1.5/256. A typical Cable connection is about 5/384. But all of that data is based on location. Really nice speeds though.
  10. No, please do not listen to dlewis. Linksys hardware is cisco certified, making it pretty much the best on the market. And dlewis what bugs are you having that would even make you say that they are coming out with new products to fast.
  11. welcome to the forum fishacura! i do not think they have a limit on newsgroup download usage, but i could be mistaken...
  12. I would re-format install sp1 and do not install sp2 again.
  13. okay, i would recommend a Linksys: It looks like that its model name is WRT54GS.... It is B + G compatible and is a switch built-in so it eliminates collision domains. It works with 802.11B and 802.11G networks, and works at a maximum of 54mbps. You get a range of 150ft. Easy set-up! Runs at anywhere from $50-$70, works very well with other linksys products. Works with all isps that have a ethernet-based internet service (most common isp). I recommend it 100%, if you have any questions please email me at [email protected]
  14. I used to have Bellsouth Extreme 3.0 and i got a maximum of 2.3Mbps down and maybe 320Kbps upload, when they advertise 3/384, so WTF, they have a crappy network! do you host imagehouze?
  15. i have sdsl 1.2/1.2, for about double that...your getting SERIOUSLY ripped off for that 384/384 i would DEFINATELY find a new isp, i hope you did not sign a contract for that sh!t either...
  16. i think fios is rolling out to my area, or thats what i hear i see commercials for it almost everyday welcome to the forum will1981, I dont blame you, i would do the same
  17. yes those 2 things that they said could work, but you could set up a server, running off of your home network, so that you could access your computer's files from any location.... - http://www.aprelium.com/ download that for the webserver... - www.no-ip.com to set up a address, just in case your home ip address is not static...
  18. lol, your probably looking at the wrong ip or your ip address can even change if your isp does not release you a static ip address
  19. sounds sweet, what OS, and what will you be using it for?
  20. junkieXL where do you live (state)?
  21. Guys I think its about time pitbull481 got promoted to moderator... - Over 1,000 posts.... - Friendly - Online everday What else do you want??
