Hi Chandau 7 Since you have an older computer im willing to bet that your usb is 1.0, that right there is a cap at 4mbps. sad to say. Switch your connection to ethernet and install a ethernet pci card in that comp to obtain nice speeds Heres my results on a Vista Business Machine (2gb kingston 667 ram, dual core 2.4ghz, x1650 256mb 128bit 16ppx, 2 sata 80gb's raid 0'd) :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 7521 Kbps about 7.52 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 918 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 1448 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Upload Speed is:: 177 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2008/01/20 - 10:09pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-89IJRSNC3 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-1TG4IV03O User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 [!]

I was just wondering what other utorrent users speeds are compared to there normal speeds outside of utorrent. My current rate as of today in utorrent is below. That picture shows my rate at 431.9 KB/s, thats right about average I guess during the daytime anways. I have cable internet and its decent I guess, 16mbps/1mbps line for 59.99 per mo. My signature shows recent tested results , speeds are looking great but I sure wish I could get over a megabyte a second in utorrent , but then again im fine with what I got. Post your utorrent speeds and compare your rates with your rates outside of utorrent!!

Not bad, you get what you pay for.

Looks like a great deal, I think im going to look into it aswell.
-
nice speeds, i think verizon is allowing too much bandwidth to residential users tho, no one needs those speeds at home

The linksys routers come default as there address as 192.168.1.1, but it can easily be changed, although he could have easily typo'd the 7.

WOW This makes no sense!!

Well, according to the Comcast Tech I talked to over the phone about powerboost technology, he says that when the surrounding network has capacity that isn't being used then I will get a increase up to 14-16mbps download once I initiate a file transfer of any kind. Although he said that powerboost only affects download speeds, he said it does not affect upload in anyway. Im assuming they increased upload throughput to 1.5mbps because I obtain about 1.7 when testing, no where near 384kbps. But anyways to get back to the point, technically by him, I am getting those speeds, just for a short time, only when there is no heavy traffic on the network. I live in a small town and haven't noticed a download without this powerboost yet. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Upload Connection is:: 1724 Kbps about 1.7 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Upload Speed is:: 210 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main) Test Time:: 2007/10/03 - 7:38pm Bottom Line:: 30X faster than 56K 1MB Upload in 4.88 sec Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 14.219 seconds to complete Upload Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 208.96 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net) U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-EZ1MVRW0G User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 4.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30) [!] So technically occording to him I am obtaining those speeds, only for a short period of time when the network will allow it. I just don't understand how the hub is allowing 25% more speed than its maximum output. Mindboggling -
How could you take offense to that? I take pride knowing I was born an american, shouldn't you feel the same way about your own heritages?
-
Ok anyways, I have a 6/384Kbps connection with Comcast right now in my home. I have a Linksys router that has a maximum output speed to be 100Mbps and I have a ethernet Cat 6 cable going to a Linksys 5-port hub, who's output is only up to 10Mbps ((**it says anyways**)). So I have a ethernet Cat 6 cable going from the hub to my computer, Linksys 10/100 Ethernet NIC. And these are the results coming up right now. ::::::::::.. Download Stats ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 12574 Kbps about 12.6 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1535 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main) Test Time:: 2007/10/03 - 3:40pm Bottom Line:: 219X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 0.67 sec Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 7.922 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 112.79 % faster than the average for host (Comcast.net) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-R2QUV4XG5 User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 4.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30) How am I going 2.5Mbps above the maximum output? Without the hub I can get up to 16Mbps, thanks to Comcast's Powerboost technology. But can anyone explain the 2.5Mbps above maximum output on the hub? Does Linksys just kinda "*guess*" maximum output and not actually test their hardware?

Why the hell are these record companies suing this mother? I'm tired of this sh!t. This is childish, sueing her for 30g's a song. ROFL. I would tell them to suck my hairy c*ck. I wouldn't pay them a dime. They think this is the way to stop piracy? This has made me convinced to boycott buying CD's all together. This is just plain sad. For one the price of the new "hit" cd's that are coming out are in the 18.99 range, who the F#@& wants to pay 20$ for a cd??? Same price for a DVD that took ALOT more money to make. To fix some of the piracy, cut about 70% of that down and I MIGHT buy cd's. But right now the price is a joke. Why buy a CD for a 2-3 songs that I only like anyways. I mean, cmon'. the actual story...source link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/02/AR2007100201029_pf.html http://digg.com/tech_news/First_of_36000_30_yr_old_mother_of_2_30000_a_song_1702_songs_On_trial

Edit: Paying for 6mbps/384kbps, 39.99$ /mo. @ Powerboost. Cablenut is not installed and im too lazy to do it. -

I too found TMN through Google.

Yea, it actually feels that my 57.99 a month has come to value. I feel sorry for all the brits who are paying near 150 euro for a 1.5mbps connection and dont even get half that. Go Go Comcast. 10 out of 10 so far.
