i have had a similiar problem like that, except i didn't loose my connection i had MAD packet loss...

i have NEVER been upset with hosting games on cable, bc if one hosted a game on dsl you are going to pretty much 80-90% of that speed, but with cable (at night is the best) you can exceed those speeds that you get during the day and be a good host....my friend has a basic 5/256 cable connection but at night (about 4am) he gets a good 400 - 800, i HAVE NEVER seen a cable connection suck either

yea i had this problem once before with dsl, the problem is there is static in your phone line, remove all phones connected to it, and remove all cordless phones away from the modem.... that fixed my problem

when i used to have bellsouth, i had the xtreme 3/384 package, but the highest download i ever got was 2.3 down and like 320 up for avg

yea, comcast is sweet, they offer a 4/384 plan but they only cap the upload... bc that plans dl's range from 4-8mbps i hope to switch to comcast soon, i like my 1mbps upload but, i just miss the quick downloads, plus sdsl is getting to expensive... if i do get comcast im going with the 6/768 plan...

welcome to the site amd, are you saying that you have a capped 4Mbps connection, yet your raping it at 10Mbps, if so DANG! check that upload rate to...D@MN im jealous

Comcast is an awesome isp tho, at night i used to hit around 8-9 down and 384-900 up, on a 6/384 plan

he's on the 6/384 plan, duh... look at his upload speed plus people with comcast usually out go there download rate

sure 1 up is good in all if you host...but POINTLESS if you dont, or you only have 1 or 2 users on your net. im about to switch to comcast 8/768 or FiOs 10/2

I have to agree with RJ44, on the site it says NOTHING about 6.0, but guess what September 15th, has passed, also now its Oct. 11, and guess what, no xtreme 6.0? If theres no public date yet, I doubt it will be no time soon. Next time you call, they will just up it another month.

yea, but i DONT get packet loss at all....whenever i remove your cablenut settings it doesn't ever freeze but it loses speed... when i remove your settings i get about 1.88mbps, but when i put them back on i get anywhere between 2.10 - 2.40mbps, but with your cable nut settings i can only do 579kbps test, bc all the other ones freeze up

t1's download speeds are way to slow, i just got this sdsl, sure the uploads ok, but i need some more download bandwidth, i miss my 3mbps
