Is there anybody on this forum who had a DW4000, then changed to a [glow=blue,2,300]DW6000[/glow] and likes it? Check out what DirecWay says now.....what forum do these customers belong to? http://www.myDirecWay.com/mydw/common/2way/dw6-comments.jsp

The new satellite coming this year is [glow=blue,2,300]Spaceway[/glow]...question is what will the price be? The numbers may have changed since this article was written. It speaks of 16Mbps up, 30Mbps down...will soon see! The consumer speed mentions 2Mbps up. This project is several years old and was already scheduled to be in the air sometime ago....from what I have heard? I believe a company called Sea Launch will be putting it in orbit soon. This could't be the one he is talking about? http://www.hns.com/HNS/Rooms/DisplayPages/LayoutInitial?Container=com.webridge.entity.Entity%5BOID%5B1C00C36BF513EF4DBEC64906158194CE%5D%5D

DirecWay Tax deductions ....interpretor?
fikester replied to fikester's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Myself I think they should air commercials with that spoken language on local network channels....there would no longer be an over subscribed bandwidth problem. "very good speeds", -
According to advertisements http://getdway.com/packages.html...the pro plan just increases the FAP or your bucket size ...does not affect up or down speed? I'm on the 59.99 plan home account :::.. Sometimes my uploads are much slower....but the way things look in the DirecWay forum everybody's upload changes frequently? My last ACP re validate was 50 ,signal strength 72, home account. :::.. Direcway will also be putting up a new one too.....Spaceway. I guess just set back and listen for now, and keep the [glow=blue,2,300]Direcway[/glow].

According to the settings my skew or rotation should be set to 41.9

I would think my location would be able to get a higher Xpol than 53...my signal is higher not sure wht the ACP test is not.
-
Yes thats exactly the info that I was wanting to see. My revalidates are not near that high mine are 40-55 ? I remember the installer passing ACP outside with his laptop....however inside the house on my PC it would not pass. He then called in and they told him the Xpol looked good on there side and forced downloaded something to get me up and running. My system stays at 1Mbps down 24/7. Uploads are anywhere between 2 -115Kbps not sure what the deal is with ACP. My signal strength is 68-72....located in western Maryland

I have had my bank account linked for around five years now...believe there was a one time charge of five dollars (pretty sure it was a Paypal fee not the banks). Other than the initial fee never been charged no other fees. ** [glow=red,2,300]Note[/glow] they do a stiff charge back fees...also they can and will freeze your funds/account in the event of a charge back situation for over 30days!

It used to work fine for several weeks ago with IE 6.....No system changes other than Microsoft updates to XP. The [glow=blue,2,300]glowing blue [/glow] matched my DW6000 well

It doesn't sound any better over here than [glow=blue,2,300]Direcway[/glow] to me, unless one would prefer the green lights over the blue?
-
I am curious what others who are pointed at Horizon1, (Galaxy 13) or otherwise known as (127 west) and also using a [glow=blue,2,300]DW6000[/glow] running windows XP score on a ACP re-validate. This info can be found here under ACP statictics.

My [glow=blue,2,300]glowing lights [/glow] are still out?

Would the price of an interpretor be tax deductible? Its almost 100% guaranteed when you call for help you will get a very hard to understand, English speaking tech. They should put those techs on the sales line so people would see upfront whats around the corner lurking. My brother charges me $25/ hour to call tech support for me! [glow=green,2,300]currently at $250 expense [/glow]

Check out the [glow=red,2,300]difference [/glow] in speed test results....the average person would not need a scientific calculator or decade of college to figure out which is correct. The test is running... This test may take 1-2 minutes to complete. Could you post an upload test or a page load test here? Which bird are you aimed at?
-
I do agree with you 100%, BUT there speed advertisements are based on speed test done from myDirecWay.....do a speed test on the Dway site and you will see the advertised speeds. Its unreal they even decide how fast there own system is by there own measurements? I wonder if that would work for a speeding ticket (oh officer my speed is not measured on your radar gun correctly...I calculate my total driving time divided by distance you see.) As long as the government lets them do it the way they have been I see no changes anytime soon for the better. I believe it's a decent designed system, it s just [glow=red,2,300]overloaded[/glow]....and there still adding new customers everyday.

The test on mydirecway is the only test they seem to even honor a complaint about...I have called in many times about upload speeds. Test on this site would show the real speed...connection less than 20Kbps however the direcway site shows well above 100Kbps, so they proceed to tell you "very good speeds" "there is no problem" "all customers are running at the same speeds even commercial accounts". They seem to leave the fine print out in the advertisements about where the get the numbers from...my uploads on direcway site have been as high as 356Kbps! Explain to tech support that it takes 15mins to send out a 1MB digital pic the numbers do not come close to 356Kbps up?? They will tell you absolutely anything but the truth....the [glow=red,2,300]bandwidth is not there [/glow] at peak hours.

I'm certain my dish is already peaked out around 72....what I'm talking about is the uploads, the numbers are all over the place. I can run this test a few mins from now it may be only half of this. I don't think it will do anything for speed, however they all are supposed to be grounded regardless of dish type. A ground rod is very cheap insurance policy...which can be picked up a local hardware store or at Lowes etc... My entire system is grounded to an 8ft cooper rod, however I would not look for any noticeable speed increase..the ground rod eliminates the static build up from the transmitter and or lightning jolts. IF your dish is near by your house, and close to where you power comes in for your house there should be a ground rod near by for it....to the best of my knowledge this rod can be used as well, instead of installing another rod. Snow here does not affect the dish as one may think it would.... however rain kills the signal very quickly! That was a big surprise for me, had I known that rain wipe out the signal that quickly I may have just ordered a .98m ? My speed stayed the same until the signal fell into the 30's then the system became very unstable until the heavy rain was over.
-
Would you rate starband above Dway? if so tell me details.
-
I will almost promise you during a good steady rain you will not have a signal. My signal peaks out at 72...heavy rain drops into the 30's ! Once it gets into the 30's very unstable...sometimes the red flags begin to show in the system status. I also understand not only the weather at your site affects the signal, but also at the NOC location. I am not certain if all Dway customers use the Germantown,Md location or not ?? After experiencing the rain issue...I do not understand why the .98 is not standard equipment if the signal is not in the 80's. Each and every rain storm will shut you down until the clouds lets up. My DTV dish picks up in the 90's it seldom has problems unless the storm is extreme. This .74 dish is just another cheap way out for them....and we still pay! I'm surprised with that low of a signal a heavy cloud cover would put you in the low 40's?
