I found out a while ago how to ping the xbox and the xbox 360 and if anyone needs to know how let me know and i'll show you. I was bored and tried to ping it and it didnt work so while messing around with it i did it by accident and now it works.

No you dont have to use it they just provide it for trouble shooting and if you get Fios TV you NEED that router to get it.

Are both the switches the same ?

Have you had any dsl before ? Do you know your line distance ?

I had sdsl with Covad which is who speakeasy goes through and the speeds depend on how far you are from the C-O and the quality of those wires. I got MAX about 1400 up and down to most closer sites and to further it was about 1200 most of the time. Pings and hops were great and i dont remember ever being down unless the power was out and if something was wrong they moved there asses to fix it within a few hours. Overall it was amazing service for a high price but it was over $150 a month cheaper than a T-1 at the time for about the same speed and a slightly different SLA. I also had a T-1 from megapath which felt about the same in terms of using it but the only difference i noticed was that the T-1 was about 50 to 100 kbps faster and it cost a bit more. I dont know how speakeasy is doing since bestbuy bought them but see if there is a trial period that you can get without paying alot or free if possible. No they just oversold my area and was having major problems in the day and could only get 2 mb down out of 30 mb to anywhere but they fixed that and now i'm struggling to get 20 mb out of 30. Its been like this for months now and they dont care so i'm not helping anyone with OOL i am just gonna tell them to switch because tweaking wont help. Its ok now but its not 30 mb !!! Can i get a lawsuit against them for advertising UP TO 30 mb and i never hit that anymore ? Thats like me opening a gas station and selling gas for $3 for UP TO a gallon of gas but in rush hour i'm only going to give you 1/2 a gallon and you still have to pay $3 for it. Thats just powerboost on so it will get slower after a little while. Fios will not slow down and will stay there all day so if ya get the chance to switch try it out.
