Is there anyway to find out more from a ip address eg .like computer name ??? by using a program? ,because i use web log analyzer on my website and can see all ip addresses ....time spent ....which folders accessed etc ..but want to know who accesses it....not by just domain name or ISP name.. something more like PC name... Thanks...

WELL NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS....my entire office technicians were trying to solve the problem and cant....the thing is what if this were to happen at a customers location and we are clueless? so we all chipped in... We tried everythng from changing the order of the providers.. to calling the ISP (and they said it's a problem on our end because they can see the site )the router being used is a Speedtouch 500 series and we cant find anything saying filters or firewalls .SO WE'RE LOST......again we can ping the site .....access any other site (porn or any other) but we cant access my site alone.. which the ISP can access and anybody around the world!!! we also have a netware server and have a bunch of protocols enable like ...clients for netware and others but ...I disabled them ..restart and no difference . we also have a IP camera using port 80 ....maybe that would explain it but still would'nt explain..negative access to my mail server or even try using VPN....So were going home defeated.................Any suggestions,thought's,input's analysis anything ..... cause we need to get this .....seeing as we also build sites for customers .. THANKS!!!!

By the way Im using the same ISP at work at home so I can't see how that could be the problem ?

I'll try that but have another website also using port 8080 which is a link on the main website

No my web page is using port 80 I even thought that my router at work was blocking or filtering certain sites but I'am able to access, any porn site or any other site from work just not mine .. Maybe I can do port forwarding on the router at work for VPN..... but the website issue is killing me(and i work at an I.T firm and nobody knows why...lol..) (possiblity of it being an ISP problem)????

Yes i understand if your like going through another computer or firewall NO i'ts just the router and a switch giving everybody connection!

tried that by lowering IE browser settings and typing my site as a trusted site! still nothing I'm using cwjamaica like you jypagan

Same ISP at home is at work!

That's the thing dn0 ican ping my server dns .com ....all names ... from work but for some stupid stupid reason i cant access the web page or VPN from work.

sorry about not mentioning this too.......... but even if this works it will only fix one problem ....seeing that what i really need to do is to VPN or REMOTE DESKTOP to my server and I cant do any of that from work ....I run my own mail server and cant log into it from work either ..others can!!!!!! (what is the possibility that this is an ISP problem with that location only, beacuse I can do all of the above from other locations using the same ISP?? or any suggestions to fix? (As I said I dont see any filters or firewalls in the router interface )

i dont really know where to look for the firewall........... No its just a router going through a switch so no one person has filter or firewall control.

Wuz up, My website is working fine and everyone around the world can connect but when I try connecting at my office I get page cant be displayed .Seeing that it's this one place that cant see my siite I think it is the router (its a SpeedTouch 510 0346GG) I'm not seeing any firewall or anything to restrict sites. I also use IE so I lowered all the protection and still cant connect ......what could be wrong?

so wouldnt server.mydomainname.com work as well since it is the name of my server

so ur saying under www.mydomainname.com configure the only mx record and my mx record must be the name of the server not mail.mydomainname.com????? is it what must it be

everything seems fine the server is using 2 virtual servers 1 for intranet and 1 for the internet (i have a dual homed server) listening on port 25. but i still am able to send email but cant receive any i'm still wondering if the domain name i got since it is new. needs couple days to propugate??????????

IT'S telling me i have 2 smtp servers how do i revert back to my old setting (thats what i have to do)
