i found this forum and got my internet speed from about 1.7Mbps up to 2.8Mbps out of my advertised 3Mbps. then i used all the information i learned on this forum to get one of my computers internet speed increased by alot. this computer usually showed a .1Mbps speed after running the tests now it is around 2.8Mbps download. so i would like to thank anyone that helped me with any of my questions.

no luck, i guess im staying with the isp i have now. i live out in the woods and have been waiting for dsl to come to my neighborhood for about 2 years now with no luck. is it true that the farther from the central office you are the slower your speeds would be?

i am assuming that those levels of OC are a type of fiber. what kind of prices are would someone be looking at if they wanted that type of connection. and are those speeds but download and upload or just download?

i was reading throught the forums and i found this one topic that is now removed. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=9880.0 after reading i see that this guys upload was fake and i was wondering how and why would u make a fake test. and i was wondering what type of connection you would have to get to have a upload speed like that. im pretty sure those speeds would not be capable in your home but at a university or company of somesort. any input would be great.

just signed another contract with verizon. i feel that they have the best service around well at least in my area. pretty excited cuz i just got my treo 650, what kind of phones do u guys have?

o really then i will have to check into it more. but with most things they are not available in my part of connecticut. maybe i searched wrong or something but my zip code is 06351 maybe someone can determine if it is possible for me to get it. if i need to give more information about where i live just let me know

blunted 2 that is good to know that it would be possible to get the 2Mbps upload because that is what i am most concerned about. hopefully optimum online will become available in my area soon.

unless i saw the price wrong, but i thought the same when i saw the speed for that price

i was just looking around and i saw that optimum online is offering 30Mbps download and 2Mbps upload for relatvely cheap. I think the most it would be is about $65 a month minus taxes if you do not have there other services. i was jsut wondering if anybody has optimum online and gets these actual speeds.

i tried the settings posted above by cdf216 and i still get about 2.8Mbps out of my advertised 3Mbps. i guess i will have to settle for this until another isp becomes available in my area. because my isp offers a 6000/512 package but at $60 a month ill pass.

also if anyone lives in the eastern connecticut area and has a good isp that offers good speeds around the $40 a month range please let me know because i am paying about $40 a month and only getting 256Kbps upload and 3Mbps down

after i applied the 4000/256 setting my download speed was slower around 2mbps. so just re-applied the cable high speed for windows xp and my speed went back up to 2.6-2.8mbps. i will probably never get 3.0 mbps like advertised but im content with what im at. thanx every one who helped me out getting my speeds up.

ok i have windows xp sp2 and my isp is myeastern.com. Hey everyone, I am new to the forum and i was wondering if it was possible to make my connection any faster. My current plan 3/256 and the ISP is myeastern.com and I'm running Windows XP SP2. The upload is good but the download seems a little slower than what i should be getting. I ran cablenut and I got a improvement from about 1.9mbps download to about 2.5-2.7mbps now. I am wondering if there is a 3/256 tweak. I am fairly new to internet tweaking and stuff like that so any help would be greatly appreciated.
