  1. I'm in Tampa FL and here's a test of my 20/20 connection, the uload is a little slow for some reason but it isn't tweaked either. :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 20873 Kbps about 20.87 Mbps (tested with 25600 kB) Download Speed is:: 2548 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 15821 Kbps about 15.8 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Upload Speed is:: 1931 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2008/09/27 - 5:47pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-PIMA83KWQ U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-JI32FE51S User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04506) [!]
  2. Slow? i don't think so I have unlimited with 3G and have hit as high as 4400 kbps down and 1500 kbps up using the opera mini browser on the dual test. Posting from the phone right now in fact.
  3. I got a couple of the same type of results from the 15 Mb file also, but I knew those were wrong, I figured it was because of caching, I cleared the cache and tried again and get the result given in my test, which is consistent with my cap. You gotta love the 20 mb upload.
  4. Here's my current upload speed now that there's finally a test over 6 mb. :::.. 8. I actually got above my connection's rated 15 mbps. I've got RoadRunner out of BrightHouse Tampa Bay. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 15472 Kbps about 15.47 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1889 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/10/03 - 7:53am Bottom Line:: 270X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 0.54 sec Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 6.438 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 223.48 % faster than the average for host (rr.com) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-W93L6GKV8 User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 [!]
  9. No need for his current settings... Just use this settings file and you should be fine.. please post tests afterwards.
  10. What are your advertised speeds? Never mind I found out from your provider's website it's 2000/256 with a 1 meg tier for those not capable of a 2 meg connection because of distance. Must be DSL based. Try this cablenut settings file and see if there's any change:
  11. please post a test result from the download test and also your advertised speeds.
  12. If the router is only 4 feet away from the computer I'd run it wired using good quality Cat-6 cable instead of going wireless. Interference from nearby electronics can severely limit wireless speeds. BTW if speed dropped that much from just going wireless you should definitely go wired.
  13. Here's my results on the test in the link: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 14294 Kbps about 14.3 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1745 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2) Test Time:: Fri Jan 20 2006 08:40:32 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 255X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.59 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 233.43 % faster than the average for host (rr.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-JPZQY26G9
  14. I know terraslayer's result is cached 15 Mbps is the fastest speed you can get with roadrunner. Not even business customers can get faster than that.
  15. Hold on I may have to modify the settings file. From the OP I had no Idea this was for a DSL connection and used an MTU of 1500 Here's the settings for 384/128 for a 1492 MTU :
  16. Also like I stated some cached results are within the "normal" limits of some broadband plans, I almost mistook his cached result for a 15 mb FIOS result. But I can sympathize. ON my first post about my 15/2 connection I had someone tell me it was cached. Luckily though showing them a result from the 20mb flat test proved my connection to be true. don't always jump to the assumption that it's cached. especially with providers like Verizon, RR etc. They all offer very high speed options.
  17. Please post a tracert to testmy.net I could not take individual latency into account and file is set to a latency of 200ms
  18. good thing you found out it was a "bug" in your download cache, from the results in the 13 - 14000 range I would have thought you were on a FIOS connection and your upload needed severe tweaking
  19. Here you both go a 384/128 cablenut settings file: Please post test results.
  20. Here's my most recent from RR Tampa 15/2: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 14722 Kbps about 14.7 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1797 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Jan 13 2006 22:09:11 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 263X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.57 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 243.25 % faster than the average for host (rr.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-YPJT3O9UB :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1904 Kbps about 1.9 Mbps (tested with 1496 kB) Upload Speed is:: 232 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Fri Jan 13 2006 22:14:57 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 34X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 4.41 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 516.18 % faster than the average for host (rr.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-N83UROPFG
