  2. Sorry TRogers that I keep buggin you with this but this is what I got when I typed out what you just told me to type out which was> Use "netstat -a -b" command. C:Documents and SettingsJosh>netstat -a -b Displays protocol statistics and current TCP/IP network connections. NETSTAT [-a] [-e] [-n] [-o] [-s] [-p proto] [-r] [interval] -a Displays all connections and listening ports. -e Displays Ethernet statistics. This may be combined with the -s option. -n Displays addresses and port numbers in numerical form. -o Displays the owning process ID associated with each connection. -p proto Shows connections for the protocol specified by proto; proto may be any of: TCP, UDP, TCPv6, or UDPv6. If used with the -s option to display per-protocol statistics, proto may be any of: IP, IPv6, ICMP, ICMPv6, TCP, TCPv6, UDP, or UDPv6. -r Displays the routing table. -s Displays per-protocol statistics. By default, statistics are shown for IP, IPv6, ICMP, ICMPv6, TCP, TCPv6, UDP, and UDPv6; the -p option may be used to specify a subset of the default. interval Redisplays selected statistics, pausing interval seconds between each display. Press CTRL+C to stop redisplaying statistics. If omitted, netstat will print the current configuration information once. I am sorry I am a complete noob when it comes to this

  5. Well I thought I was capped again seeing that my upload speed has been no more than 18kpbs for the past week, I will try the css file now and let you know. Also I dont have anything around the modem or the router just a few data CD's laying around them, I did have the modem right next to the router til I read here on the forum that IS NOT GOOD so its a few inches away from it now til I find some space to put the modem a few feet away from it, But thanks alot for your help on this I wll try the css file now
  6. Hi Trogers, To be honest I really dont know how much is the speed I am paying for but when I called the technician told me I get 10Mbps down and up to 1Mbps upload, I was capped once and I think I was capped again

  10. Where can I download CableNut, I have Windows XP Professional SP1 so it'll tweak the registry for it?
  11. I've never had a problem with it, I use LimeWire PRO the latest version but I always scan with McAfee or HouseCall
  12. Well I still use AOL and the thing that bothers me is that they like to overcharge my wifes checking account, She has her own account and I have mines and we should be paying about $40 for both accounts and sometimes they over charge to $70-200 no lie and we have to be calling to fix that problem up and already reported this to the Better Business Bureau, But its really her who wants to keep AOL cuz to me I can just use Internet Explorer to browse through sites, So yea AOL is a pain in the a$$
  13. I got Optimum Online and pay $49.99 a month and I am supposed to get I think 10Mbit Download and 1Mbit Upload :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3254 Kbps about 3.3 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 397 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2) Test Time:: Sat Feb 11 01:56:08 EST 2006 Bottom Line:: 58X faster than 56K 1MB download in 2.58 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 61.84 % of your hosts average (aol.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-7B5JTMZNG :::.. 14. I know this is a stupid question, But what exactly does CableNut do?
  15. If I do I better NOT get capped cuz its ridiculous that I am paying for a service that should'nt limit my speed
  16. Wow are you serious? I see its from Optimum Online too which I am having problems with also with their capping, You have a link to download sygate? I heard its one of the best firewalls
  17. Hello All, I am a complete newbie here and I seen in other posts that you guys are so helpful and do not hesitate to answer questions so here my problem if anyone is willing to help out. ok first, I have a Motorola SB4200 SURFboard Cable Modem with a Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router 4 Port Switch. I have a HP Pavilion PC desktop where the cable modem is hooked up to with the router and the other pc is a Dell Dimension 8100. HP has Windows XP and the Dell has Windows ME Now I used to have the ethernet cable hooked up to the router going to the other pc (Dell) sharing the connection and everything was fine for a few months until a couple of weeks ago I noticed I wasnt getting a connection on the Dell PC so I looked at the back of the pc and noticed instead of having a green light it was orange so I thought it was the cable and went and bought another one and that didnt work neither. I tried reformatting the Dell pc a few times as a matter fact I reformatted it about 6 times already and installing the right drivers for it and still I get no connection and I paid to get another slot installed in the pc and this time I DO get the green light but still I get no connection whatsoever, Is there something im not doing right? Do I have to do something in the HP Pavilion pc in order to get a connection on the other one again? or should I install XP on the other pc which I was told would be my best bet if I wanted to get a connection again onthe Dell pc but what I dont understand is that I used to get a connection b4 and now out of the blue its just been acting up and I just dont know what else to do and dont want to spend more money buying another pc when I know it can be something simple that can be fixed. So guys please I need your help here, Any help would be appreciated alot, Thanks for your time.
  18. And how much more is the business plan?
  19. I am constantly uploading though, You ever heard of DC++? Well thats what I use and its always uploading files so thats why I think they'll still cap it when I get boost
  20. Heres mines and this only after I called today to take the "Cap" off which they said cannot happen more than 4 times :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 7482 Kbps about 7.5 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 913 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2) Test Time:: Wed Feb 8 02:45:18 EST 2006 Bottom Line:: 134X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.12 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 44.3 % faster than the average for host (aol.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-NCUBXZT09 :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 863 Kbps about 0.9 Mbps (tested with 1496 kB) Upload Speed is:: 105 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server1) Test Time:: Wed Feb 8 02:47:03 EST 2006 Bottom Line:: 15X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 9.75 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 242.46 % faster than the average for host (aol.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-NYV9DH8W6 Remember this was after I had called today, With this capping thing I know it wont last long even after I upgrade to the Optimum Online Boost Speed Package because they said it will still be the same with capping
  21. Wow my download speed suck and my upload is the worst and when I called optimum they said they "Capped" it from the network because it is a shared network. They said something about "Throttle" but wasnt paying attention. So my speed drops when they cap it but it I call 4 more times they will send the case to a security team and then from there they will decide wether or not to terminate my service. Since I am always uploading they said they had to cap it, So Blunted is verylucky to have those speeds
