With a router i still lag in counter-strike When i veiw game info it shows that i get 30-50 latency which is pretty ok, but when i join a game it spike lagss it goes from 30 ping to 100 and so on untill it lags bad Is there something i can do to fix this problem?

Hi, im having spike during the game counter-strike and i have found out the problem and i need help turns out that its the router, in wire router not wireless and its lags when i have it on. without the router the spike is lag goes away, what should i do to play well with the router and not to have spike lag My connection is a 256/64 and 2 computers are connected to my router. yea thanks, i already did that, safe mode worked great. i think the trojan is still there but the symptoms are gone thanks for posting all!

not any, i have a 256k connection but it was better on my desktop comp, dunno why slow on laptop, better graphic card. MAJOR SPIKE LAG

what about the tcp recieve window, the file u gave me changes all the defaults, should i keep everthing defualt and blank and put the tcp recieve window as the info u gave me?

those are the only settings i should put right? nothing on dr.tcp or tcp optimizer or cablenut?

is this a good rwin? 3000 x maximum latency which is 35/8=13125 13125/1460=8.9 round to the next even number (10) 10x1460=14600 is this correct or should i put any other rwin or cablenut settings?

hey, is it normal to almost 900 kpbs at peak hours. my advertised speed is 3000kpbs download i get 1.5 sumtimes and 1000 kpbs most of the time. does anybody know a good value for the RWIN or tcp optimizer, i got cablenut on the 3000/384 which is my advertised speed.
