  1. tdawnaz: I didn't web search this but I think milk had Strontium 90 in it .As for the bread my problem was a lack of it. :haha:

not what i'm thinking of...something to do with the pricing

  2. cholla: i too was 17 in 1970...got married on my 17th bday...and guess what didn't "have to get married" :P ...like i said got a color tv for a wedding gift and gave it away...used a b&w one i brought from home...big console job...swivel base...

there was something going on with bread and milk too...can't remember what it was...do you remember?

  3. remember the gas wars...that's what we need now...

but cholla: according to that chart looks like gas in 1970 altho it was less than 50 cents a gallon was equal to about 1.60 today...with inflation and all...1.60 would be great :D

and in 1970 mcdonalds hit 1 million burgers...way big deal...remember?

and in 1970 i refused to even consider owning a color tv...i thought they were evil and would cause cancer...some propaganda i had read somewhere...got one for a wedding present...and i gave it away

  4. i was not even invented in the 1970s

    :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

just: of course you were invented...you were invented long befor you came here...but in the 1970's you were still "just" a twinkle in ur daddy's eye :P

  5. Unfortunately i won't be joining. I have to much time invested in FAD. :(

i don't get it lorne...i thought you started this thread...ca3le set it up and now you're not gonna join?...am i confused?

    edit:

wait i see...'fad' is find a drug...'folding' is the protein folding project...how did we get from FAD to Folding tho?...i'm just not sure i want someone crawling around in my computer when i'm not looking...anything you can tell me about that?

  6. cak46 and cholla and fallowearth (sorry if i spelled that wrong...going from memory...hehe)...welllll...i was just thinkin of your safety...ya know...didn't want you guys pokin an eye out or something...ya know i lost my tongue with one of those...darn near lost my nose too, if wasn't for my safety glasses holdin it on...i'm sure you guys know what's best tho...i'm a mother it's my job to worry :D

peepnklown: hunny oh my gosh...you have lost so much...how do you deal with it all...i'm here for you, in anyway i can help...you know that, i'm sure...you must be a very strong person to have been thru so much  ;)

  7. I think you might be overreacting........... I think if you read the whole part of this thread on the subject, it is being talked about in an appropriate way. No one is advocating it for children, no one even mentioned children until now. I think parents need to be a bit more in the forefront of their childrens lives. I, as was Cholla, shooting firearms at a young age. To teach and to learn about something, instead of banning it, is a better alternative.

cak46: not overreacting at all...i've seen what can happen (several times)...i have read the thread...and at this point in this thread is not where we start teachin people how to be parents, or teachin kids how to handle firearms or explosives...or decide what should or shouldn't be banned...this just got too graphic

  8. Its not a pipe bomb, Tdawnaz. Fired a few myself, back when I was a kid. I don't think we need to worry that we're informing the youth of today about anything new. I think the youth of today are far more advanced in finding information on far worse stuff than potato cannons..

cak46: i just checked with a friend...the way this is put together...the potential for mishap, if it's put together wrong...it IS considered a pipe bomb especially if someone gets hurt

  9. tdawnaz ;Well they might go to the link from here but the info on the potato cannon is readily available on the web.I doubt most parents would have the site blocked. the potato canon is even available commercially so it is not a pipe bomb.I would never give instructions to build a pipe bomb. The combustable I mentioned would not be available for minors to buy.Fallow Earth mentioned the other 2.Which might be a household item.Black powder is also not sold to minors.Although I was shooting a .22 rifle when I was 6 years old.I guess people taught about guns early have a different perspective.

i just think u guys went a step beyond the bank...a little close to the edge...almost fell in...on this one

just because they may already know about it doesn't make it right for a bunch of 'adults' give them directions to where exactly they can go to find out how blow their face off or catch something on fire...this was not appropriate...period!!...not to mention illegal in some place i'm sure

  11. oh boy ...here we go...boys will be boys...geesh...some little kids gonna read this stuff...all the black powder and now cannon fluey...make his own and blow his friggin li'l face off...why u guys posting links to sites where u can make stuff a kid could get hurt with...then ur talkin about how to fuel it with combustibles...c'mon cholla i know you have more common sense than to post stuff like this in a family forum...seriously...pipe bombs with a potato (apple)...grrrrrr

  12. Why did you bring this up? My mother is DEAD!

peepnklown: I'm so sorry to hear that :( ...my mother has passed as well...I brought up mother's day because...uhhhh...lemme see...oh yeh...that's right i remember now...cuz it's mother's day  :haha:

but i still wish all mothers a happy mother's day...including but not limited to...mothers, mr moms, grandmothers, women who've been a positive influence for someone...and the women that did and didn't know it...to the people with mothers and those without...those with grandmothers, those without...to men who have women that are mothers to their children...to men that have women in their lives that are mothers...to women that wanted to have children and couldn't...and to women that had the courage to not bend to tradition and stood firm that they didn't want to have children...to the children who knew their mothers and to the children that didn't...to the people that still have their mother's in their lives and to those that don't...to the mothers whose children have lost their way...and to the children whose mothers have lost their way...to the mothers that bake cookies and to those that don't..basically to everyone...men...women...children...young...and old...because regardless of the situation...regardless of the story...regardless of who we are or where we live...everyone has or had a mother...everyone is somebody's baby...i say to all...I hope you all had a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! i know i sure did...my children are the best :)...i only wish my mom was still here...or maybe she was today :D...she was the bestest mom ever and i miss her every day...and every day i smile thinking of her :)

  14. I'm sorry

Jesus Christ I'm getting crucified here because i asked how much money the site makes.

i don't want to make a site to compete or see if this is a market to go to, I'm sorry guys for sounding like i wanted to intrude into cables or any one personal life, i just find i have been around for a while, i like the site a lot and i like chatting to you guys over here. i just wondered how much money the site make, not an exact figure or an excel spread sheet posted.

Sorry once again if i intruded in anyones life.

i see so many websites with this goggle banners i wondered if they payed off

if they do they do if they don't they don't i wont ask a thing about it.

just: i think it just wasn't a question for the public forum posts...questions about private matters should be done privately, not publicly...that's all...i'm sure you meant no harm...it's all good i'm sure
