  8. not bad mrmartinjr always use 2992 KB testfile when comparing diffrent tweaks, cos if you get a little lag spike with a 579 KB testfile your score will suck, if you use a larger file, the score will be more accurate VanBuren
  9. Submitted by j79zlr I have developed a calculator with Mnosteele and Dannjr from DSLNuts [i am a mod there], that you can use for any speed, the general CCS files are convienent, but this is really a better way for you to get your settings, since you can input a different MTU and up/download speeds. It will also generate the CCS file directly for you to download which you can then input into Cablenut. Calculator for XP/2k: http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php Calculator for ME/98: http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutME98.php

  15. wait, in your first post you said that you have a router it have to be plugged in when we tweak, cos you will have another MTU with router installed also when using router, force 100 Mbps full duplex on your NIC VanBuren
  16. dern try this, open cablenut, change DefaultReceiveWindow to 384000 and click save to registry and reboot VanBuren
  17. try this set your NIC to 10 Mbps half duplex, i assume you connect direct to modem quote from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml "Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. * Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection. * Right-click that icon and select Properties. * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT. * In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or ( at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI. * Click OK to exit the Adapter settings. * Click OK to exit the Connection properties. 18. hey j79zlr and welcome to the forum i have seen that and i think you made a great job with that, i often use www.dslnuts.com for input making the files the hard part is to use right latency, i made a tweakguide but i noticed alot of ppl came up with wrong latency values and that bringed down the speed quite alot,. And if they was using SP2 that read DefaultReceiveWindow instead of TcpWindowsize, its hard to tell what value they using.on a regular Tcp analyzer maybe i was doing something wrong but i tryed that XP page you have to build files, but when downloading the file to my PC it couldnt be read in cablenut, before i know i just got a plain textfile that i copyed and named it .ccs and that worked for me also, i would suggest to set Synattac protect to 0, cos that can give alot of connection problems with p2p, ftp programs i admire you guys work with Cablenut, keep it up VanBuren
  19. this is the datacenter that testmy.net using "The Planet currently owns and operates two state-of-the-art data centers in Dallas, Texas" http://www.theplanet.com/datacenter.html VanBuren
  20. hey stilfx like i said i do not know anything about MAC
  21. it shouldnt matter, just set your NIC to modem in 10 Mbps half duplex and the other NIC that goes to the other PC in 100 Mbps full duplex VanBuren
  22. try again VanBuren
  23. my speed is constant to almost all other sites in EU ans US beside testmy.net theplanet (datacenter that testmy.net use) have huge routing issues to some nodes you have alot of traffic now, so i suggest to compare tweaks only at same time a day... VanBuren
  24. ok there is the problem, USB slow down alot buy one more NIC and connect your pc over ethernet to the modem VanBuren
