  2. lets say i have a 5000/768 Kbps Cable connection and use a fileshare program that dosent limit the transfer rate then if eg 5 ppl downloading from me, they will use all 768 Kbps and ping will increase cos modem peaking out. if i then start to download from somone else i will get crappy downloadspeed, cos its hard to send acknowledge packets to the sender "the one i download from" if 5 other ppl using all the upload bandwidth and increase my ping. 3. on that screenchot you posted, click general tab now follow these steps * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT. * In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or ( at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI. * Click OK to exit the Adapter settings. * Click OK to exit the Connection properties." VanBuren
  4. I suggest all ppl do this, set your upload cap in Netlimiter to 90% of your real cap, then your download will speedup aswell VanBuren
  5. very nice Just try this, force your Network card to 100 Mbps full duplex this is a description how to set half duplex, use it and set it to 100 Mbps full instead http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml quoute "* Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. * Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection. * Right-click that icon and select Properties. * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. 9. http://www.dslreports.com/faq/2252 quote "Q: Raising MTU from 1480 with WinXP, using *built in* PPPoE connection software. (#2252) A: As of 10/15/01, there is no way known to raise MTU in WinXP from 1480. This issue is seen only by WinXP users who are connecting with the built in PPPoE connection software. If you change to RASPPPoE, or use a router instead, your MTU should then default to 1492. RASPPPoE is popular, free, and less problematic than WinPoet (another choice). This small difference (12 bytes) in MTU is negligible however, and should cause no concern. Check back from time to time though for a "fix"." I dont think you will gain any speed by increasing MTU to 1492, in this speed range. VanBuren
  10. hey Marcin im glad you got your speed back, 91 % of cap down and 92 % up thats as good as it gets VanBuren
  11. yea its great, i also use it on p2p programs like DC++ i limit my upload speed to 90% then my download speed is not affected if somone uploading from me if i have 5 ppl uploading from me and using all my bandwidth i cant send acknowledge packets in time and that cuts down my download speed aswell.
