try this 20MB file and see if its more accurate http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?ni=1&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=000&out_src=20MB a rule of tumb is that a test should last atleast 8 seconds to get a accurate score ( works both ways, can show too slow speed and too fast ) if you dont calculate TCP overhead, for a 30Mbps connection thats around 30/ 8,192 = 3,662109375 MB/s 3,662109375 x 8 seconds = 29,3 MB testfile For me, the 20 MB test is several Mbps faster then 12 MB test, but im overseas By the way, welcome to the forum streetspirit VanBuren

:haha: Dark06 i spend less time infront of PC these days, so i dont have the time to follow all threads here VanBuren
-
sure, here you are dlewis23, yea it sucks i do get 100Mbps, but only locally ... See the speed on that FTP transfer VanBuren
-
yea overall im very happy, its just sad when ISP
-
somewhere in my route to Stockholm, where my ISP route almost all traffic, they are capping me this is what they deliver but this FTP transfer from University in my town, show me im not capped locally belive me ive complained hehe, but i gave up, all BS about the service is "up to 100Mbps" ok i can buy that, but when i cant reach 100 Mbps any time its just wrong... they should advertise it as "up to 70Mbps" instead... VanBuren
-
same thing here, results for a average internet user, its more expensive to use 56k then 100Mbps broadband VanBuren
-
then you should call your ISP and complain good luck VanBuren
-
yea i guess i am, even tho my ISP dosent give me the full 100Mbps speed they advertising VanBuren

i dont think the ping package drop has something to do with your speed issue, cos if you drop 69% of your TCP packages aswell, then your speed would be like Dial up hehe The modem you have handle the speed, but it might need a new firmware try this unplug power to your modem, leave the modem unplugged for atleast 3 Minutes then start it up again check speed again VanBuren

the pathping results looks fine, beside a 69% loss against 12.119.136.14 I ping this all the way from Sweden with no loss Pinging 12.119.136.14 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=170ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=165ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=161ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=161ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=240 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=241 Reply from 12.119.136.14: bytes=32 time=161ms TTL=240 Ping statistics for 12.119.136.14: Packets: Sent = 30, Received = 30, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 161ms, Maximum = 170ms, Average = 162ms Also what modem do you have? VanBuren

the problem is not the TCP settings, cos its almost the same result with every file you use. So that makes me think there is a problem with your modem or NIC. also try this 12MB testfile http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=12160&st=st&ta=&top= try this aswell start-cmd-pathping testmy.net wait several minutes and do not use the connection before the test is done. VanBuren
-
make sure your NIC driver is up to date, also test my latest 10 Mbps file VanBuren
-
No offence, but I belive it when i see a link or screenshot of a 10Mbps upload.. from a 2 Mbps connection then we can judge if the test is accurate or not VanBuren
-
what did it say? Post a link instead VanBuren
-
take a look at network graph, i use DU Meter, but you can use taskmanager aswell i dont think its impossible for you to hit that upload overseas VanBuren
-
the second test gave me this Speed Test Results Downstream 38,356.1 Kbps ( = 37.5 Mbps ) Upstream 10,034.6 Kbps ( = 9.8 Mbps ) hows speed for you on this server? VanBuren

has been improved, with larger testfiles http://www.adslguide.org/tools/speedtest.asp my download is a bit off, but upload is where it suppose to be http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=11485060465277308171 Edit: a bit faster this time http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=1148506716768118393 VanBuren
