MTU 1480 VanBuren

if you have windows XP and connect direct to modem your MTU will be 1480 if you have a router between modem and PC, your MTU will be 1492 thats a bug in windows XP VanBuren

i dont know cos i never tried it, but if a testserver is offline then you will get cached results. So i guess a simple block of a certain IP# would do the trick. However this is lame and the joke putting cached results here and claiming its real getting old, and not very fun anymore VanBuren

try changing the Settings i marked with blue, you seem to have changed those settings from my version 7 file. also try the 2992KB testfile for upload VanBuren

call your ISP and let them check modem signals, also try replacing the LAN cable between modem and PC VanBuren

you seem to have a latency problem between your gateway and pc and 2% loss try replacing the LAN cable from the modem to your PC if that dosent bring up speed, call your ISP and let them check your modem signals VanBuren

hey JOEYB and welcome to the forum looking at your stats make me think your test is cached, but i have no idea what kinda bandwidth your commersial RR connection has. a easy way to find out the true speed is to test from several testservers and also open task manager while doing the test and that show you how many % of your LAN connection your using i suggest you also test these servers and provide screenshots http://miranda.ctd.anl.gov:7123/ http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ VanBuren
